Signet of Capture
I have had Signet of Capture for a while but have never used it. I have just recently looked at what it says when i scroll over it. It says that it will permanently put the skill that i captured over the Signet of Capture. Does that mean that i have to get a new Signet of Capture every time i get a skill from it. Thanks.

Yes. They cost one skill point plus a small amount of gold. I think my first cost ~130 gold and then went up by about five gold for each subsequent purchase. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong ...

the 1st one I paid for cost me 1 sp and 60 gold from the skills guy in quarrel falls. You can get ONE FREE when you accept a quest from a guy in lions arch and then you get another FREE for the reward.

So you get two FREE Signet of Captures in one character's lifetime? Also, SoC says it captures the last skill used. So if Boss X casts Skill A, then prepares to cast Skill B, SoC will catch A and not B, right?

Yes, once you capture the spell, it is yours to keep.
you can only use spells that are for your profession, though. |

yeah i want elite stuff but im not far enough in the game to get them yet. and the 500 XP from the mission is what i was trying to get but have not found anything that i dont already have yet so i will just hold onto it. im a level 19 right now and i am at the Wild so i have a long way to go before i can get the elite skills.
my second proffesion is Monk. |

Signet of Capture grabs the last skill used by the boss. When you click it, you'll see a long bar moving across the screen, along with text saying what skill it's capturing. I've been told you can move and interrupt your capture while it's doing that if it tries to capture the wrong skill. If SoC hits a skill you already have, it'll fail to cast and you'll be able to use it again after it recharges.
Important knowledge for capturing stances: They won't show up as being used under the bosses name. If you know the boss uses a stance you want, you have to pretty much spam SoC until you see it start capturing the stance. The price is the price of a new skill from a trainer. Each additional skill you take from trainers seems to raise the price of each new skill. SoC just counts the same as any other skill in that sense. So for non-elites, it's not cheaper to use SoC, but SoC may let you get a spell sooner than you'd find it on a quest or trainer. Last edited by Indolo; Jun 06, 2005 at 09:53 PM // 21:53.. |
