Low quality textures
I have searched the bords all the way through and have found noone who have mentioned this problem so here i am going to post it..
I have noticed that the quality of textures on all players besides one self is significantly lower and doesnt look very good.. i never had this problems in the open event and it annoys me quite alot.. I know that its probably to save gfxcard power by not running the same highrez textures as on ones own char. or its some bug in the mipmapping but as i have a Gf6800GT and im already pulling extremly high fps in this game nomatter what i do i think i deserve the option to set all models textures at MAX rez. So i went looking for an ini file to increase the gfx setting and what do i find ? 1 pak file 1 exe file and a temp not much to work with.. so please anyone who can help with this annoying problem post away. |

As regard to the configuration information, I Just did a little testing, and it appears all the settings are stored in the GW.DAT which seems very silly. I think I know this is how because, I took the "modified" date/time stamp of the GW.DAT and started Guild Wars, then quit. No change on the date/time stamp. Then I started Guild Wars again, and changed a setting in options, I quit Guild Wars, looked at the GW.DAT timestamp and it changed to the current system time/date. I have also checked the registry and entire hard drive thoroughly with only reference to (un)installation information for Guild Wars, so I am afraid that this configuration data will be stored in GW.DAT as binary format and you would need a hex editor to first find, understand the layout and change the right data accordingly, which I would not recommend anyone do, because you may corrupt the file and the game may force you to download all the content again.

And hence i ask here no obvious way to do it oneself.. and if you do try to edit the .dat file youself yes i agree it would most likley say that its invalid and needs to be reinstalled.
Just think its silly as all textures were top qual in the open event thing and it ran perfectly on my old gf5900u then.. so noone have found a way to tweak it up to run everyone at same qual textures ? |

Okai i've noticed that when out on a mission or generally in a battle area all your team mates have high rez textures.. must be something to enable that in cities to
