Default Basic questions about forming a guild.

Is there guidelines somewhere for forming your own guild?

Can a guild be created that just plays PVE?

What is the minimum and maximum number of members a guild can have?

What kind of special things can a guild have? Like I noticed several have capes. How are these created and is it difficult or require special art, etc. programs?

As you can see I'm totally new.

Thanks!

the guidelines for starting your guild are basically lots of gold and a Celestial Sigil. The Sigil can be won in the tombs by holding the Hall of Heros, but is also available from a vendor near the Guild Registrar. There is also a fee for creating your cape and purchasing a new guild hall, although I can't remember what they were

Yes! Your guild odes not have to PvP at all, there are many guilds that only play PvE, but the option is always there if you want some better competition that monsters.

The minnimum number is 1 and the maximum is 101 (100 members plus the guild leader)

Guilds get capes, a guild chat option (like the area and party ones), as well as a guild hall to hang out in or GvG in. Capes are purchased when you create your guild and you only have to put together you cape from the available options. There are lots of options though, so don't worry about somoen having the same cape as you. I only saw one guild that used the same symbol as us and the design and colors on theirs was much different.

A PvE guild wouldn't need the guild hall for GvG but it's a nice place to meet your guildies and hang out. The guild chat feature will be really useful for gathering groups of people for missions, I know we use it alot for getting players to join us for PvP or PVE.

Default Thanks BlackArrow. Another question.

Can a guild be formed based on only one primary character group, like all rangers for instance?

Somewhere I remember hearing about or seeing a team build consisting of nothing but rangers (or maybe it was rangers and elementalists) Is there any other good team builds for just rangers?

What is a very good secondary class for a primary ranger going it alone?

What about a ranger's pet - any way to better control it, like telling it to just protect the ranger from close quarter attacks instead of running off and attacking whatever the ranger starts to shoot at?

Thanks again for all the help.

As far as my understanding is, there isn't a way to create a Guild where the game actually knows that you're going to have only Rangers, Monks, or whatever profession you want it to be. The Guild Leader is in control of who can be in the guild, and you could limit your invites to only the profession of your choice, so it is possible to have a guild of only Rangers.

For a secondary on a Ranger, it all depends on what you want to be doing on your own; if you're looking for sheer power, Warrior secondary can give you skills like Sever Artery and such. I was playing a Monk secondary, mainly for the Resurrection spell, but that obviously doesn't help when you're on your own, though it is nice to heal yourself more rapidly than trying to pull off Troll Unguent when being attacked by multiple creatures. It all depends on what you want.

So far I've found that pets, while nice earlier on in Pre-Searing Ascalon and for missions up to Fort Ranik, become somewhat of a nuisance. Unless you want to be healing your pet in the middle of a heated battle, what happened with me at least was that my Melandru/Playful Lynx would end up getting trapped between a few creatures, would get annhillated, and would cost me a 5% Death Penalty. If you wanted to pump up your Beast Mastery Attributes, your pet could become quite the little tank, as long as you take the time to make sure it doesn't die. Of course, I'm not really a pet guy anymore, not since my Melandru got me stuck in a ramp during the mission where Prince Rurik is killed by the Stone Summit (blanking on its name right now, but hopefully you get the point). Not fun having to wait until people can get to the next cutscene so I can rejoin the action...

And at least for now, there is no really way to control your pet, other than trying to attack a different target who's further away from the action so your pet is at least a little more out of harms way.

The Guild was 100 gold, the capes are 1,000 gold, and the Celestial Sigil is 1,815 gold.

Well, to actually see the Guilds that are out there, it's quite easy; simple hold down Ctrl any time you're in a major city or waypoint, and look for the tags that are on the back of peoples character names, and you'll see that there are plenty of guilds to choose from. However, actually becoming a member of the guild can be a little more complicated than just asking to be a member. With at least how my Guild has done it, is that we found a base number of members through online forums, such as GWG and Guild Hall, and then this last weekend, as I was going through missions, looked for strong and promising players and asked them if they were interested in joining our Guild. Another way you get become noticed would be to do some Arena battles in Ascalon City; if your team wins a few matches, some Guilds may approach you in the same manner as I did with the missions and see if you want to join.

The other option would be to just stockpile your Gold (or find some friends who want to help), and start up your own Guild. Prices for the Guild and Guild "accessories" are posted above this post.

In the last event, Guilds cost only 10 Gold to start, and since for this event they increased gold values by 10 times, the new Guild price would be 100. Granted, it only means you can use the Guild chat box and you have the tag at the end of your name, so that's why it's not all the expensive, but Guild Capes and Guild Halls are worth much more because of how symbolically important they are.

I formed a guild, it cost me 100 gold, I couldnt afford a cape, it cost 1000gp, I didnt even bother looking at the requirements for guildhall (is this what the Sigil is for?) as I was content to just play with the cape designing graphics system. The guild leader and guild officers are in charge of inviting people, so if you want, for example, only ranger classes, yes, you can do this by only inviting ranger classes.

Ok, I have a question... One account can have four characters, right? Is it possible to have one character in a guild and another not? Or for the other character to be in a different guild? Some times I like to go anonymously, and just tool around as a nobody. But if All my Characters have to be in the guild, this will be harder. ^_^
