Anyone else having Sound Problems?
I have been playing GW for several weeks now w/o one problem until this past week - I have LOST ALL Sound while playing the game TWO times. Tried reporting to GW Support - filled out their form anyway.

If you are running windows XP, try this resource for troubleshooting sound problems:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;q307918 Close all software which are taking up too much ram/memory as that might be one of the reason... try playing songs in WINAMP or other software, does it still break the sound? Do you remember printing something when this interruption happened ? If that is so, might be an IRQ error. Your sound card might be trying to share an irq address with another device, maybe the modem or maybe the mouse - do you see any warnings in device manager? If you haven't one so already, update your question to CS to include your operating system, sound card, driver edition and mention if you have made any changes to your system's configuration in the last few days. Do you run the game on high speed or a phone modem ? I have no idea if streaming sound is server-end or gamer-end for this game, but that might be the simplest reason. If you're using a phone modem try a spyware/antivirus check to see if another application is sucking up the precious bandwidth/processor space. I am no expert, just a layman. The techies here would be of more help. Good luck mate. |
