I would sell it since it IS a gold/rare item. The only thing that might hurt it is that it isn't max damage, but other than that its a very nice sword.

well it up to u because u are a ranger, u cant use the upgrade so you will end up selling it anyway. so sell it, btw its not even max dmg so it will be kind of hard to sell, try to sell it to a new player

The 8 sword req isn't terribly high either. I'd try to sell near the Yak's Bend area. I think you can get at least 1k out of it, but I like to sell fast and cheap. You may get more if you're patient.
