Random Arenas.
It'd be nice if there was some organized play in the arenas.
I'm rather tired of the randomness. No matter how much fun it may be to meet new people, I find myself wishing I could go in with a few friends and see who we can or can't defeat. I mean, this IS a player vs player game afterall. If anything, just make the non-random section more limited in terms of level; this should help reduce the number of griefers hanging around with their high-level nonsense. Thoughts? |

Why don't you try the team arena, which is exactly what you're looking for? You get to it from Droknar's Forge, and at this point in the game pretty much everyone is the same level, though some might not have gotten all their extra attribute points yet. Start a new PvP character and you might notice it's been available all the time.
The random arena's purpose, I think, is to give a "quick fix" of PvP that's accessible to everyone. Play for awhile in the team arena and you'll notice that organized teams that know each other and have played together before (they might all have the same guild tag) win quite a bit compared to pickup parties (and the silly parties you see, like the 4 W/Mo teams). Twice I've moved to the team arena with people I met in the random arena; after we ended our random arena streak, we met in the team arena for another streak. It's just a matter of luck, to get placed in a full team of competent players in the random arena. I wouldn't take the lower-level arenas so seriously. They're just a primer for the level 20 playing field, and a decent way to earn XP if you happen to be skilled and/or lucky. What does this have to do with guilds? |
