Off-topic thought.
Can you imagine how much rangers would be wanted if expertise worked on secondary skills? "What's that, heal party for 5 energy?" |

Moa Bird. No one sees that coming with lvl 12-15 beast mastery. Supposedly some guy on this forum kicked ass in PvP with a high beast mastery and Moa Bird.

I'm a R/N but I honestly do not use ANY of my Necromancer skills mainstream. The only one I DO use, rarely, is Parasitic Bond in PvE to help with a little health regen while buried in a mob. I just have no room for anything else. Dual Shot, Troll Unguent, Kindle Arrows/Ignite Arrows, Hunter's Shot/Distracting Shot, Call of Protection, Healing Trap/Resurrection Signet, Comfort Animal, Charm Animal. Granted, I'm only up to Anmoon Oasis so no elite skills yet. |

If you just removed one (or BOTH ) of the animal skills you will have room.

Rangers suck!
J/k They are my favourite build type, i play just ranger, nothing else and it works soo well. I find that you don't get the full advantages if you don't play pure ranger. You kinda need skills such as troll Unguent, kindle arrows, apply poison, duel shot, barrage, tigers fury, and the other two can be filled with a disabling/distracting shot skill, and something else of your choise, maybe another stance, maybe rez signet... they compliment each other. |

Rangers Rule!
Take it from me. My R/Me owns especially in team events, ie. Guild Battles and what not. All I do is single someone out, usually Monks, Add a bit of Backfire, Energy Burn and Pin Down. Then use attacks like Power Shot to go in for the kill. Sorted. |

I have a big experience with rangers. They suck no matter what. They all suck!
My two cents: Create a new character. |

i think its because people wont take a chance on a good ranger when 99% of rangers are noobs who shoot pathetically low dps arrows and then run from the battle with the first sign of trouble
honestly, ill take another monk as support than a ranger anyday |

Now that was fun, went into a comp arena battle near end everyone was dead except me and a opposing ranger (with pet) both of us had already used our rez so it was just a boxing match, I won our little fight lasted like 7 mins she got me down but i have whirling def and throw dirt up and i have troll ungent so ya she only hit me when thos wore off and ya, it was fun one on ones are always fun they should make a 1 on 1 arena

1 on 1 arena would rock!!!
I built a Ranger during the bwe weekend events and yes I am a noob, but I can hold my own at times. I think it takes just as much skill to play a Ranger, if not more, then it does to play a Mesmer, more of a thinking class. My highest character I have in sear is a E/Mo which is almost a no brainer to play. I can hand this character to most people who have never really played and they can own. But my Ranger builds (two of them) take a little more skill and control to play right. You have to know at just the right times to do what and where. If they did have a 1 on 1 arena I am sure you would really see Rangers owning that one. Love to see the the look on the warrior's face when they are turned into a blind, poisoned, pin cushion laying dead in a smoking trap!!! |

I'm extremely confused. I getting my new pc next week and i really want to play this game and i was thinking of making a R/Mo. but if other groups wont add you to the groups, isnt that a problem? i a total team player, and i would love to annoy my opponents during battles. should i just create something other than a ranger?

Want to hear a funny story that happened to night for real, ok you'll hear
I decided to turn my Ranger into full out Rituals, ok well one of those rituals was Edge of Extinction (When a creature dies all creatures of same type are hit for ?? damage) well my damage on mine was like set to 40, and during the HoH arena where its one on one, i was laying down like rituals every second and edge was going up alot every 60 secs maybe a little less i had qz up to, well all of the sudden we all wipe bothj us and the koreans, no clue why then we thought on it we think because of Edge of Extinction. becasue i had alot up and since it damages area when one dies, that one died then another died cause of that effect causing huge chain reaction and killing everyone in battle, least thats the only explanation we can think of.. anywho koreans were yelling something in korean who knows what, we got ported out and were like all laughing... i mean no one won every one wiped it was funny. just think if you could harnass that lol... dont mess with us rangers and our rituals lol (actualy our grp wanted to do it again just to see a total wipe but we didnt lol we had ppl leave cause of like rl stuff) Last edited by Qenelder; Jun 20, 2005 at 05:19 AM // 05:19.. |

Rituals don't stack so I suspect what happened is that you killed a guy and everyone got hit for 40. ..but another guy was under 40 so he died, which is another 40. Guy #3 was under 80, so another 40. Guy #4 was under 120 so another 40, and so on.
Get a group clustered on you, drop Edge of Extinction then Death Nova on yourself. Buhbye! |
