I have a elementalist friend who keeps harping on about getting a mod for his smiting rod to change it to fire damage, I don't think this is possible right? I found him a nice fire wand instead, but he wants to know, the damage on the wand is just for when you are hitting with your wand right, ot does it affect your spells?

Damage type on the weapon has nothing to do with the damage type from spells. |

Because fire damage is close enough to holy that they didn't care? =P
I have played lots of games where fire does double dmg to undead. |
