Guild Money?
My guild was saving up for a gulid hall, we have around 30k and yesterday one of our members managed to win a sigil. What should we do with this 30k...We cant really give it back because we never kept a record of who gave how much. Any suggestions on what our guild can do?

lmao ... ouch!
Depends on the composition of your guild, but I'd suggest making a general fund with that cash. Keep that 30k for people to use honestly when they need it (as I said, depends on composition - Im thinking of a small, tight-knit group). Just a thought. Good luck with that mess, Ascension |

I agree with Ascension. If someone really wants something, but needs a K or two, give them it. Keep a record of who you give it to though, you don't want to give 20K to one member and 10K to another.

If I were you, I'd save it for trips to the Underworld and other such places that require 1k gold. This way, you don't need to draw from people's personal stores(more than you have) and everyone in the guild can benefit(if it is, in fact a tight-knit group). The only way I see this failing is if you have more than 240 members, in which case you couldn't get each member to a pay-to-view map.

Spend it on 2 pieces of 15K armor. 30K does not last long.

Seriously though, sounds fair that the guy who won the sigil should get it . |

My vote: Either one of two things. Give the guy who won the sigil the 30k, or save that for underworld/fow trips for your guild, both as mentioned here. In fact, it might be best to just ask the guy that won the sigil which he/she would rather do.
My guild had kinda sorta the same thing happen. We tried for about three weeks to save up the money for a sigil, before the update. We never could reach the price that they were asking, as it was going up so astronomically. Well, after the sigil update, we all noticed the price go down. About a week later, one of my members says that he's got about 40k saved up and wants to put it towards a guild hall. Well, me three or four other members quickly saved up as much as we could, and bought one from a person selling one in LA (as it saved a little bit more). We still had some money left over, so we all agreed to give the leftovers to the member that gave the most. Seemed logical to all of us; it seemed to make it all even out. Plus, he deserved it anyway for being so dedicated to the guild. |

I've heard that the sigil just gives you the ability to buy a guild hall - but you still have to pay extra for the guild hall itself - is this true ? - If it is it might be worth keeping hold of your money - if not, then yeah, give it to the guy that won

Nope, just have to trade the sigil for the hall. Personally I'd take it and tell everyone thanks for making you rich.
Does anyone know if Anet is making a patch to where the guild leader can just dip into everyones stash and take what he or she needs? That would be sweet. Seriously. Give to the guy that won. Flat out. Let him figure out what to do with it. |

Another suggestion, use all the money to buy crafting material and have material for everyone in the guild when they need it. Only problem with that is you'll need a character mule to hold all the items and it should be on someones account that is on often that could access the items when the guild members need it. This is where that guild storage idea would come in handy.

Well, ask the guy who won the Sigil atleast.
Maybe he doesn't want it? Then ask him what he wants to do with it. |

dont tell the guild members
I would use it as a general fund, or buy some really nice items for all of the members of the guild, like buy special bows for all of the warrioes |

I do agree with some of the above people in the fact that your sig winner should get some of the cut then put the rest back for guild needs. Members shouldn't argue about this too much. |
