most people charge 3 k, dont pay any more. Plus, do a 50/50 thing. Give half at Beacons, half at Droknars.
My advice, play through the game. It is much more fun, you uncover the storyline, and now ArenaNet has made it so that people get items and runes by playing through the game, not by farming a section of the map. |

1) I dont know exactly how to report someone, since I havent done it myself, but I believe there is a link on the guild wars main page somewhere
2)depends on what you mean by ripping off, as in you think he is charging too much (not reportable) or is taking your gold and then not doing the escort? (in which case you better have alot of screen shots of the situation or Anet will probably not be able to do anything) |

Caveat emptor. You took a risk by trying to get rushed to Droknar's and now pay the price.

I have sympathy, but since 'forge running' is such an anomaly in the game I don't know if A-net would kick someone for not delivering. Unless you had ironclad screens to document the rip-off.
I keep expecting them to make the run impossible somehow... |

yeah, the run to Droknars isnt part of the story plot, so i guess its a "use at your own risk" tactic

Simply don't pay him until he gets you through at least Lornar's that way your through the hardest part, and if he's real you'll know cause most scammers won't waste all that time just for a small amount of gold. Then just pay in intervals until you get there.

there's a list somewhere here (the title is maybe Droknar Runners or something) that outlines several dependable runners who charge not at Beacon but at the first zone change, then again at the next outpost and then the third installment at Droknar's Forge. Check it out if you want someone to run you, many of them were referenced by several gwguru members and not just one.

if you get ripped off trying to cheat the game you shouldn't complain about it.

I don't mind losing money to a scammer, since it's my own fault paying before delivery.
But, I hate the thought that this very same person does this trick over and over again, therefore I always make sure to get the advertising player to describe the deal in detail, take a screencap, note the name, guild name & time et voila, if you get ripped off you can pass on the info to anet to deal with it. So far I only had to do this once, as a scammer managed to rip off a whole team and put everyone on the ignore list, so that he could enjoy the game without any whispering complaints. That's where the second account came in handy, resulting in a whisper a la "Enjoy the last 10 hours of your account", resulting in a hilarious flood of whispers from him with all kind of bullshit ("I just logged on...", "What do you mean?", "Why were you saying that?", ...) and a logout several seconds later. Haven't seen him online since, so I assume anet is actually taking such issues seriously I just can't stand the thought of guilds, or some of their members, actually using scams as their main source of income. |

Bottom Line:
You payed a guy to advance you through the game at the pace that was not intended. He is under no obligation to uphold his end of the bargain, and I doubt anet cares. All hes doing is another type of farming: Idiot Farming This is the type of farming where he sucks fools into giving him money. As far as I'm concerned, I think its a great idea, idiots shouldn't be allowed to have money |

Well all I have to say is f--k you Cerby, I sincerely hope you will run into that attitude of yours one day when you are in need of help. Arch Adw did the same thing to me yesterday, collecting the gold from the full party and then leaving party and dis. I sat around in the dis mad as hell for the inability to do anything about it. And fifteen minutes later he came back to the dis and started spamming the running offer he lead me to believe was genioune. I told him, and i will tell you all: I hope he will burn.

You have nothing against him he can simply say you gave him money for no reason, which he wouldn't have to because they wouldn't take it that far.
Even if you had screen shots of the agreement you have NOTHING. You can report him for this but it will get you NOWHERE. Balrad you don't "need help" to skip 80% of the game. Not only do I have no sympathy for anyone who gets scammed like this I think they deserve it. A: You should be smarter. B: You shouldn't be doing it. It reminds me of these morons who get mad when their hacks have trojans. There was this one "hack site" for Diablo II, it was the greatest site EVER. If you downloaded their "hacks" it made you spam for the site. Nothing was better than seeing people GO TO www.BLAHBLAHBLAH.COM FOR HACKS!! www.BLAHBLAHBLAH.COM FOR ALL YOUR HACKING NEEDS WTF I'M NOT SAYING THIS MAKE IT STOP www.BLAHBLAHBLAH.COM IMPROVED MH OMFG WTF I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING SOMEONE HACKED ME Not quite as bad but what can ya do. |
