Elementalist Build Help
Hey again, I posted recently that I need ALOT of help with my Elementalist and how to improve him. The help was really appreciated but it was very seperated. I'd like to make my Elementalist useful and effective, I understand they are not an independent class but they should be effective none the less. In my previous post, people have said there are ways to make them effective so i'd like to know:
1)Skill point set up (I only have 170 right now but will get the 200 soon I hope) 2)The elements to use. 3)I am a Ranger second profession so how to incorperate that if possible(only if you think it'll help any, if not just forget it) 4)Tell me what runes to use including minor, major, superior. 5)Skills to use (Even if you don't know if I have the skill, say it anyway I'll try to get it) 6)Most of all how to use each skill. I know I know, this asking alot but I am extremely confused on what to do, I keep wasting refund points just so I could keep testing but i'm sure you guys have a good solution. Thanks very much in advanced. |

The best way to find out is try stuff out, if it works for you then it does'nt matter what anyone else says. What works for me or anyone else might not work for you.

Well the problem is, I have tried some stuff but nothing seems to be good. I'm guessing what I am overlooking may be good and as I said before the refund points become a problem. I'd like to get something effective in one shot.

This is such an open question.
The simplest thing to do is to choose one or two elements and allocate all your attribute points to your primary element, then energy storage, then your secondary element. Personally, I like to use air for dealing damage and earth for armor. So, I have max attribute points in air, then around 10 in energy storage and around 10 in earth. I have all 200 points, so it will be a bit different than yur setup. I also have a major air magic rune, a minor earth and a minor energy storage. Air skills are pretty straight forward. I use lightning strike, lightning orb and enervating charge. For protection, I like armor of earth and ward against melee. Then I usually equip air attunement and elemental attunement and a ressurection spell. |

i WAS a E/N but when i got to the desert. I just totaly drop the necro. I personaly like fire magic. i got fire maxed out and then energy storage like like 9 or 10ish. i dont have 200 i got 170. So that i know of i dont know of any ranger skills that would help u out with switching to a bow. Traps mite be nice. As for me right now my skills that i use are
Flare, Fireball, Fire storm, Meteor Shower, Searing Heat, Inferno, Ether Renewal and cap sig. Fire is mainly AoE dmg. Just find an element that u like and stick to it. and when u say it doesnt work. what do u mean. as in you die. or dont kill anything. die- do u have decent armor. dont kill anything- keep pressure on them dont let them heal themselves. My 2 cents |

It doesn't work as in I don't seem to be any assitance, I don't give good damage then when the thing finally notices the fly on his shoulder desperately trying to hurt him, he turns around and kills me. I have the Forge armor (60) I understand that a mix of skills can boost your defence and be effective for hurting things both in PvE and PvP. I was thinking Air and Earth but I don't know if that would be a good idea.

How about i tell you my build, might help.
Air: 16 (12 + storm eye + sup air) Energy Storage: 13 (12 + Minor) A vigor, i use Major untill i get Sup. Use Aeromancer armor for PVP, Pyromancer for PVE. (just to brag i use both 15k sets, saving for fissure ) This is a pvp build i use and it works nicly for me, so don't moan Lightning Strike Enervating Charge Ligntning Orb Chain Lightning Lightning Surge Arcane Echo (mesmer skill) Air Attunement Aura of restoration Start off by casting attunement and restoration. Then i use Surge quickly followed by chain to tell them they are up against an air ele. Then i just cycle the first few skills, and use Arcane Echo alot with Orb to double that up. It seems to work for me, feel free to change around any of those skills... i like them, enervating for the weakness etc. I'd go for a fire build for PVE, but Air is deffinatly the way for PVP. Ele's are mainly just pure ele, but you see alot of secondly mesmer for the echo skills, some energy tap, backfire... i like arcane echo so i use that, i would use 'echo' but it would stop me using lightning surge as its elite. You can change to Mesmer in the desert, at that town.. erm north east of augary rock, forget the name. Last edited by Silver Spectre; Jul 01, 2005 at 01:48 AM // 01:48.. |

And Surge is from the Elemental Draon in the Dragons lair mission. |

O, Pyro and Hydro are in The granite Citedel north of Copper hammer mines, north of droknars forge. Aero and Geo are in Marhams Grotto which is south from Thunderhead keep mission.
Just to inform you that they are just for looks, stats are the same as Droknars forge armor. |
