Does Armor Penetration Stack?
I searched and looked for an answer and did not find one.
I'm interested to know if the armor penetation from the Strength skill stacks with that of Judge's Insight. Or would Judge's Insight overide the penetration Strength gives? Does anyone have insight on this? |

Good question. I dont know. If I had to guess, I would say yes. It shouldnt be too hard to test it though, crank down your strength attribute then fight some mobs. Crank up your strength and fight the same mobs, compare damage.
Post back, Im interested. |

Another thing to look out for is how it stacks.
Does the 20% of Judges add to the strength bonus, or is it applied before/after the strength bonus? |

On another note... does the Armor Penetration from a sundering weapon stack with Armor Penetration from skills?
And if I use 2 different skills that provide Armor Penetration(such as Penetrating Shot and Judges Insight) do they stack? Someone must know the answers to these questions! |

It stacks, just not as simply as we would hope. I'm not sure exactly how, but I've used judge's insight with penetrating blow and I think I've noticed a difference.

As you can clearly read from the description of the skill
Judge's Insight - Enchantment Spell For 8-18 seconds, target ally's attacks deal Holy damage and have +20% armor penetration. So, imo it do stack with other AP bonuses. |

So how exactly does penetration calculate into added damage?

Thought it was 25% armor penetration.

The problem is how it stacks - does it work like
1) Add all pen %, then apply to armor, or 2) Apply each pen % in sequence (which order wouldn't matter) Chances are it's (2). (1) would allow some awesome damage. |

The general way that armor penatration works is by reducing enemy armor.
If you have 20% armor penatration against an enemy with 100 armor, your attack treats it as if the enemy as -20 armor, 80. Sundering weapons are really hard to calculate, because they don't always fire off. I'm actually guessing that all armor penatration is summed up and done in one fell swoop, because that would be easier to program |

There are two types of Armor Penetration: Base AP and Added AP.
Base AP just lists the AP, Added AP is the +AP% ones you see. Base AP+Base AP doesnt work:the higher bonus overrides the lower. So an AP of lets say 10% from Strength would get cancelled out by Penetrating Blow's 20% AP. Added AP+Added AP stacks, and Added AP+Base AP stacks: in a nuthsell any skill that says +AP% like Judge's Insight will tack on to anything else. So Penetrating Blow+Judge's Insight stacks along with any other +AP% skill. For any other base AP the first rule is applied. |
