what does a zealous bow string do? i read someone said that barrage and zealous string is a great combination for Ranger. is this true? i have barrage but my short bow has fiery damage 15-28 instead.

Zealous bow string gives you energy for every hit you do. It is personally my favorite bow string for any bow

Barrage hits numerous times quickly, so when coupled with Zealous Bowstring, you can get lots of energy back quickly.

Specifically it is:

Energy Regeneration: -1
Energy on Hit: 1

Which means you lose 1 energy regen, but gain 1 energy everytime you hit something with an attack.

So without having your arrows hit, you won't gain as much energy. Barrage has multiple target hits so you'll get gaining energy according to the number of targets your arrows hit.
