Possible bug with Hero's Challenge?
On one of my 4 PvE characters, I did Hero's Journey, changed my secondary class a few times, and did Hero's Challenge. I know that's the order it's supposed to go in. However, I just had a friend who upon entering Droknar's for the first time was given the Hero's Challenge quest.
Of course, my first thought is that he must have helped someone do the class changing quests and not realized it, but indeed he hasn't even been to Seeker's Passage! He didn't know how or where to change his secondary class, and hadn't yet seen, accepted, or completed Hero's Journey. My next thought was that he might be getting Hero's Journey and Hero's Challenge confused. I asked, and he said he was looking at it on his screen right then and there, and so was certain. He even went so far as to read off parts of it, so I knew he did indeed have Hero's Challenge. Now, we've been friends for many long years, and he's the last person who would lie about something like this. Has anyone heard of this happening before? I feel somewhat cheated to know that some people may be getting their last 15 attributes without the work you're supposed to put in. I mean, getting it without even knowing you change your secondary in the desert? |

I got Heroes Challenge before I attempted changing secondaries. I even went out and tried the quest with hench. I followed Sanyi from Copperhammer, everything was going great, I was wondering what the heck everyone was talking about when they said you had to go back and do a Path quest, and then Sanyi stopped walking at the second huge mob. I cleared the entire area, suffering a -45% DP because the Stone Summit were spawn camping at the res shrine, even walked over to where the star was for the end of the quest, only to find nothing there and Sanyi waiting back at the top of the hill. I walked over there, tried talking to her, tried walking away to see if she'd follow... nothing, she just stood there completely silent.
I tried this twice more, then gave up because I was so annoyed. I went back, did all the Paths, did the quest again and it worked fine. I was still kind of pissed at how remarkably deceptive the quest was the first time, though, since "Complete a Path in the desert." was never one of the quest's objectives, I was convinced the quest would work without a path since I could complete most of it, and my mistake only realized itself near the end of the quest. |

The quest not finishing for you (with Vanyi not moving) must have been a bug more related to the death penalty/number of times you died rather than needing to complete any desert quests... 'cause as of a half hour ago, said friend of mine completed the quest and happily got his 15 attribute points.
He still has never been to Seekers or attempted any of the secondary quests. I hope they look into fixing this. |

I cant seem to get this quest with one character. She has been to all three places and changed her secondary....but no quest. Does anyone know what triggers the Hero's Challenge quest?

As far as I know you have to talk the woman in droknars forge do the hero journey quest she gives and compleat one of the change 2nd proff quests and then you get it.
But the quest seems of changed since I did it. As on my e/mo (then e/me) I did it with henchmen with out a problem. Aslo did not have any problems with my W/Mo when i did it in a party og all humans. But when I tried to help a guild mate do it not so long ago we kept geting mobed by a HUGE party of stone summit. We had to try it at least 5 to 6 times before we did. |

Yes, those mobs are huge. At times they split into 3 or 4 group with a dolyk master in each so you can defeat them group by group. At other times, they merge into one gigantic group. The way I tackled it is to kill Dolyk Masters first as there are at least 4 of them, then one by one killed those summit dwarve gnashers. You have to prepare dying a lot. Before fighting with Mragga in the end, everyone would probably have -60 death penalty but the final fight isn't too bad.
