Which of these fire wands should I use? - Guild Wars Forums

(Blue) Fire Wand
7-13 dmg
+15 energy
-1 regeneration

(Purple) Fire Wand
9-22 dmg
Improves Casting Speed (7% chance)

The purple wand has obviously a way better base dmg, but the 7% is pretty shoddy. The blue wand has a great energy bonus, but -1 regen. According to the game, the blue one is worth over 100g while the purple one only 60.

I use my wands with a +11 flame artifact, so the blue one, with artifact, gives me +26 energy.

What do you guys think???

I would not use the blue one as my primary wand, maybe I would switch it out, using the blue one when Im at max mana, then changing to the purple wand after I cast a spell or two. The 15 energy is not worth the loss of energy regen though. The purple wand has better damage, which can help, especially if your build uses conjure flame.

I use that +15 energy wand along with a +22 flame artifact both which have a -1 energy regen and very rarely have a problem with energy. Esp now I have the glyph of energy skill. The extra damage is not worth as I very rarely use the wand for attacking.

being reduced to warrior energy regen is something worthy of note ..!

+ are you really using all that pool?
do you not use energy storage, attunements, energy recovery mitigation?

just curious - different strokes different folks

agreed, because you're not doing melee damage for the most part. what will help is that you'll have all the extra energy to help you in your casting.

Use the purple wand, and swap to the +15/-1 wand when you hit zero energy for a quick boost.

if you want a better Wand just ask and i will get you one from a collector in the Crystal Desert that is 10x better than both of them

to be honest the one you get form the crystal desert is by far the best one in the game right now to use even if you found one with +40 health it still wouldnt match that bad boy...

You mean the 20% chance of improved recharge on skills one? Also what the other dude said are you not using energy storage? I have 81 mana with no -1 regen cause it truly isnt worth it.
