Completing North Gate mission
I have repaired the catapult and sent lots of missiles into the Charrs. What next?? Do I have to get back through an opening in the North Wall because I cannot find one before the Charrs regroup and annihilate me and the party. Help please!!

the best trick with this is to have one go near the fire and walk away when all the charr come out than the other person at catapult launches it (with luring person is safe range) and there death oh and incase that person dies from the catapult make sure u got res signet there might be 4 charr left and those with the boss but u should be able to take em

Unfortunately I am doing this solo, so I do not think that your tactics will work for me. What I am trying to find out is how you achieve the conclusion of this mission i.e. What do you have to do and where do you have to get to. I can do everything up to repairing and firing the catapult, but what next?? Regards Bill Birchall |

You have to kill all of the charr. The easiest way to do so is by luring them within range of the trebuchets and using the trebuchets to kill them in mass. The first time I played this mission, my buddy and I killed all the charr without the trebuchets and it took a long time. When you say "solo", do you mean with henchies? It's hard to imagine a lower level character really "soloing" this mission.

After you fix and fire the catapult....go down the SW path from the catapult.....to another catapult below. You can use it after you lure some charr out or fight thecharr the hard way. But then you curl up north....around and past that catapult.....and you should see the charr boss that you need to kill to complete the mission.

OK the next part is a bit tricky but definitely doable. Go down to the second Trebuchet and arm it by pulling the lever once. Then carefully move towards the fire until you attract the attention of the Charr that are in the area and surrounding the Boss. Do not aggro them, just let them see you. When they've all collected around the fire run back to the trebuchet and pull the lever. The Charr around the fire will be toast.
There will be about 3 or 4 groups of 3 Charr left. If you want to clean them up go past the fire following the gully until you reach an area where you can climb back up. Aggro one group at a time. Once you've done this the only thing left is the Boss Monster and a couple of his friends. Go up the stairs and kill them off to end the mission. This is how I do it with henchies. Hope it helps. |

There is a point, just past the second 'pult, that triggers the char to swam out and bunch up, if your swift you can back out of range, I'd make a sprint for the 'pult then and try to pull the leaver asap, if your lucky you should get most of them, it's just easyer with two players.

Most time when I have done this, I just activated the second catapult, and it hit the enemy boss and I won.

Yeah, I've seen this happen twice on my last Northern wall missions runs.

If you can/don't see the second catapult hold down the Alt key and you should be able to spot it easy that way.

First time I did it was with henchmen as well and same as mentioned before. Ran out, lured them from the wall, ran back and let some fire fly heh. Killed most of them but about 4 groups that did not cluster back so I took them out group by group until only the Charr boss on the wall was left. Second time I went through though I was helping a friend who did not have res. I unfortunatly did not realise I would die from exploding catapult missiles and ran out to distract while he had fun throwing them. I died and we had to start over because the henchmen had followed me and died to. Next time he ran out there and I brought him back to life.
Lead a group through there the other day, did not tell them luring ment death just so I could watch their reactions before I brought them back. Was kinda funny. |

Btw...this is the Fort Ranik mission you are talking about....not the one out of North Gate.

Laugh, I definitely think it is glorious to die with a 1300 trebuchet damage on you. It happened to me when I was luring... was sprinting out but my mate didn't realize I was in range and fired. 3 dead bodies
