Sundering OR Barbed upgrade for sword?
I am at a stage where I have a good sword and money to burn on upgrading it. I have a sundering hilt 10/10 and a Barbed hilt. These are the only ones I am willing to put on my sword as I find furious hilt and zealous/vampiric hilt a bit of a waste (degeneration of hp/mana)
I understand that using the sundering hilt 10/10 will give you a 1 in 10 hit with 10% armour penetration, whilst the barbed hilt will give you an uncoditional prolonged bleeding time on a foe. What I am wondering is: which one in you opinion is better for a sword? The barbed or sundering 10/10 hilt? And by how long does the barbed hilt increase the bleeding duration on foe? Thanks for ANY input. |

I personally wouldnt use the barbed upgrade. I have found that 21 seconds of bleeding on foe at sword level 12 is more than enough. That is, I hit the monster with a new bleeding attack long before the bleeding of the first hit stops.

Well, it depends on how you play. If you playing PvP i would use the barbed upgrade so if anyone runs away from you , you can kill him bye bleeding !

But by how much does the barbed hilt increase the bleeding duration? Would it be around extra 4 seconds? :/

I'd go with zealous.
or if you have a 3:1 vampiric, go with that. But if you must use either barbed or sundering, use barbed. Sundering gives you the armor penetration equivalent of 1 attribute of strength, i.e. almost none. |

If your talking about PvP then any team worth its salt will have good condition removal so the prolonged bleeding will mean nothing.
Looking at sundering as giving you 1% AP per hit is not quite the right way of looking at it, it isn't for duration damage, it is (in my experience) to give a little extra spike damage. Also comparing it to Strength is a little skewed as strength only comes into effect on skills. |

I agree with Magus...I'd go with a 3:1 vampiric...you'll be gaining more health than you'll be losing.
