Ranger help
First of all I am a new comer to guild wars and after reading some of the forums I was awestruck and impressed by the depth and complexity of the game. I am currently using the Ranger/Elementalist build who prefers air magic, and am looking for some suggestions on how to go about playing; whether beast master or disruption or heavy ranged damage. Any help will be appreciated. Also I get the impression from others that rangers are a ???negative or bad build??? and I would like to be convinced otherwise. Thank you in advance.

there's no 'bad' build at all
I enjoy my dedicated beastmaster build no matter what others say, play the way you like to. |

The way GW is set up, you are bound to change your build at least a dozen times before you hit level 20, and then another dozen before endgame. There are a few reasons for this, one being skills. You only have so many skills when you start, and you build up gradually. Some builds require one, two or more skills, so if these arent available to you yet, they arent feasable.
Tinker around with what you got, it doesnt take much to change your attribute points and swap your skills out. Find whatever you like and go with it. My mesmer/necro got all the way to the desert without using mesmer skills. I was all necro back then, and still I had to change my skills and attributes alot. Rangers are not a bad build at all, one problem with them is that alot of their really good skills come much later in the game. If you are going with air magic, you will probably want to pick up conjure lightning as soon as you can, and a shocking bowstring. |
