*Noob Qs* Ranger Weapons + Pet Qs
Hey everyone,
I am fairly new to gw, been playing it for 2 weeks now. I have a R/E combo as you can see, and I have had questions about bows and such... I heard that shortbows and half moons are the best. which one is better? And whenever i try to get a short bow or half moon, the price from others is striking!!!! 140k minimum for a half moon and around that for a shortbow! even as high as 200k! thats around two times the price of a guild hall!!!! Is there like any decent shortbow/bow i can get for around 3.7K (All the gold I have right now! ;[ ) I currently have a 9-13 damage bow with +5 energy and such. Me and my friends have collected a lota building materials if needed. And I am currently level 13, going onto 14 soon with a focus on Expertise and Marksmanship. last but not least: Is it true that all pets do the same damage based on your BM attributes, and different pets only look different? |

Here is a list of bows, and what there statisics are:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ies-id1092.php (Horn bow has 10% armor penetration) Try getting collector bows, those are usually pretty good, without the huge costs. Pets do different amounts of damage, and have different stats, there are a couple good threads about it, here is one: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...814&highlight= |

1. Shortbows and Half-moons are the same. They are merely cosmetically different.
2. Hunt around here, in Ventari's Sell. I've got a great deal on a good bow here. Also, collector's bows are a great way to go. Most "decent" you're probably looking at are max damage with *supposedly* excellent mods. 3. I'd sell you a clean short bow of mine that's around 14-25...but I lost it, in salvage. If I find another, while cleaning up Hydras, then I'll try to remember you. =P 4. Pets do different type damage, as well. |

For one thing, there is no best bow. Short Bows are good for one thing, Long Bows are good for another, it all depends on what you want to play.
Also, don't worry too much about finding max weapons early on. Your bound to find one in the later stages of the game, usually around the desert.\ And most of the bows you see people selling are the maxed +15% damage over 50% health ones. Max damage clean bows will sell for much less. |

15 - 28, across the board. The only difference is Rate of Fire, Arch (Trajectory), Arrow Speed, and Distance.
Personally, I *really* need a shortbow. I compared a cheap drop to the RoT in Tiger's Fury to my current Horn Bow...and...I was really really sad. |
