I would not have grouped you because I probably wouldn't have the faith that you could pull your weight as part of a team. I do realize that being low level or high level is completely seperate from being a contributor and a parasite. I wouldn't have grouped with you, but I certainly would have answered your questions and not been rude.
Perhaps, as has been said, there is the immediate connotation that you're free-riding. |

On my last character (Me/Mo) I finished the game with lvl 15. And I don't really think I was a liability to any team I was in. I never had more than 15% death penalty, and in most missions I had none. When I started at Droknar's I was lvl 11, from there on continued with henchies only, until Thunderhead Keep and to all outposts in the Southern Shiverpeaks. Thunderhead Keep was the first mission I did with other players, and from then on I always found a team that wasn't prejudiced to not take a 'low-lvl'. Although there were the inevitable "kick blabla, he's only lvl 15" when someone new joined the team. Luckily, no one ever kicked me, and some openly said they would rather kick the new lvl 20 than me. And I doubt they would have said something like that, if I were just some dead log they had to carry with them.
That said, before I started my last character I finished the game with 3 other chars - the more or less usual way, ascending at lvl 19, 17 and 16. I know almost all of the missions extremely well, and in most parts it's really tactics, much more than sheer power, that get's you through the tricky parts. This makes a low-lvl character more viable to those that didn't finish the game already (and there are still lots of them), and if I were low-lvl, I would have a look-out for groups that need some direction |

not a bad idea but not a good one either. Being a low character would mean that you either constantly died from being rushed upon by huge group of monsters. Or you have to team up with high level character to make it through missions or quests.
Also if a low level person make it to a guild with high level character than its up to the guildmates to make that character ready for pvp and help him/her out with tough quests or missions. In short... low level character is not a good thing in GW since later on in the game where your in Underworld or ring of fire, you need to be high level with good equipments to survive there. |

Lol. I think It's funny seeing low levels at higher parts of the game. The Only reason I "rush" (I walk from asclon to yak, mission to coast, bettletun, bergean, ages, fishmeans and mission from kay onwards) is so i can get to the forge armour sooner and grab the skills I want to have some fun with. I've only done this with one of my characters (I can't see doing the desert first time at lvl 14!) and I don't see the harm in it. It's a bit of a nice variation on the usualy way to do the game. i like that the option is there.
However I wouldn't group with a lvl 14 at thunderheap or further in. These missions are ahrd and you need every advantage you could get. 18+ sure but 14? No thanks. |

The best low level character is my lvl 8 monk. He tanks FoW and UW all the time without dieing. He has only 10 health. HE IS INVINCIBLE.
I only run him with friends and guildes but he still is the best tank that I know of. I have 12 in Protection (Superior rune and the head piece and 8 points) and 11 in Healing (8 points and a Superior Rune). All I have to do is cast Protective spirit and mending on me. I take 1 damage per hit but heal faster than I can be hurt. All I have to do is cast mending about every 50 seconds. I replaced the tank for my guilds runes into both FoW and UW with this dude. We play with 2 other monks both with a maxed spellbreaker to stop my enchants from being stripped away also. Now on topic. I would have told you were to go but wouldn't have grouped with you unless you were a friend or a guilde. |

dude doing the droks run is just dumb
in areas after droks I will not party with a non ascended character. They are usually all noobs and overwork the healers. Plus, you realize that you are missing 30 attribute points? 30 att makes a hell of a lot of difference. |

I have nothing against people running (well, being run) to Droknar's, but I do object to people then expecting other people to compensate for them having done so. The person you were speaking to was under no obligation to group with you. He sees a lvl 13 char asking to join on a capture trip, he's going to assume you're a freeloader. It doesn't matter whether you are or not, there's no reason for him to take the risk. You are as likely to be a liability as an asset, so I don't see why he should waste any time on you.
You seem concerned that there are jerks in this game, and you're probably right. Unfortunately this means people already have avoiding jerks to worry about before they would even consider taking on a low level char. Chances are every pug will have somebody you would rather have done without. Picking someone of such greatly lower level is just setting yourself up to lose. Ok, just stopping talking is a little abrupt, but he didn't start mouthing off at you or making accusations, he just made a decision to not play with you - one he is perfectly within his rights to do. If you want to be treated equally, then go put the work in and level up. It's not hard, especially with 60 AL armour. Actually, I've little against low level character. I've grouped with a lvl 16 Guildmate in UW. Don't ask me to risk ruining my playing time for somebody I know nothing about though. |

Most people ran to droknars simply want the armor and a few elite caps to ease the journey through ascension.

Ya, that's all i did it for, to get the armor. I think everyone still misunderstands my post. I'm only aggravated about the guy not talking to me because I was low lvl. I didn't want to group with anyone. I was planning on doing it with henchies. And when I did it with henchies, I got my elite power on my first run. I had to take out a few boss baddies but still got it. I dunno why it was easier this time then with my last character. Thank you guys for all your replies. appreciate them

I don't mind people running their low level characters to Droknars for skills and equipment as long as they don't go there to beg. If you made enough money to pay for a run, you can certainly do it again.
Most folks who run have already beat the game several times over and just want to speed up the process the third and fourth time over. If you're new to the game and run your character to Droknars, you deserve all the scorn you get. |

Unfortunately, I have the opposite problem. I was level 10 in Pre-Searing and everyone was accusing me of using hacks to get to such a high level.
