from what I have heard it doesnt matter, absorbsion runes are global so it protects you no matter where you put it.

The rune effects everything so it doesn't matter where you put it.

Actually, that is not true. Generally you take most hits on the chest, so I would put it there

This brings up another stupid question I had! I just found my first rune, put it on my armor, and was thrilled to see my health soar. My question is, can I recover that rune when I change to better armor? If so, how?

Use Expert Salvage kit on the armor. There is a good chance to lose the rune by doing this though.

If you buy an expert salvage kit, you might be able to recover the rune. You also might just end up with standard salvage components. The joys of random chance

Rune of absorbtion affect all part of the armor wherever you put it. So it is going to work if you get hit on your chest while the rune is on your pants. |

Thank you all for the replies. If I ever upgrade (which is doubful, since at lvl 10 my bank account is STILL under 1k!), I shall make the attempt at recovery with my fingers crossed.

I could've swore that on one of the latest patches, in the release notes, it stated that you now would be able to recover runes from armor...all the time, not having to worry about the game of chance.

Waitaminute... you mean all that stalker armor and axe fiend armor would have yielded me RUNES if I'd just used an expert kit on them instead of a regular kit???

No, only the magic or above ones yield runes. Common just yield supplies. |

Does inherent absorption on armor affect all armors as well? For example Ascalon armor reduces damage from attacks. Is having the reduction on the gloves any different than having reduction on the body?

Yes it does. There is no difference between having it on your gloves or boot. |

Can somebody explain why my absorption rune is not working. I am not quite sure what is the problem. I have a major absorption rune on my helmet, yet it never reduces damage. I've tested this by taking it off and hoping I don't get hit in the head. I have several shields that reduce damage from attacks and they work perfectly fine but I can't for the life of me figure out why it isn't. Do I need a certain level in tactics, do I need to be dancing to get it to work? Will gw not let me have reduced damage because my head looks like a bunny rabbit? This is bugging me :/
Edit: I tried using knights boots, they correctly reduce attacks (although I recall doing tests that showed they didn't a while ago) anyway I added a minor absorption rune to them and it didn't work. Are my absorption runes bugged? :/ Last edited by thaumaturge; Jul 10, 2005 at 01:14 PM // 13:14.. |
