Monster strengths and weaknesses?
Having played the game through on 2 characters, I'm in the so. shiverpeaks with my third, an e/me. I've always liked playing casters, and having just finished my tour of duty with a warrior it's a nice change. However, I have a few questions to help maximize my effectiveness. First, the armor. You can get armor that is resistant to one element. Someone said that they protect against the element they say but are weak against its opposite, ie hydro armor is weak against fire. Is this true? I couldn't find a reference to it anywhere. If true I could see why people might want the cheaper Elementalist armor which has no pluses or minuses. In any case, I thought I'd buy at least a chest piece of each type to be able to swap them out.
I would also like to be able to tailor my loadout for the mobs and zone I'm about to enter, but for me it's always trial and error to see what hurts them most. It's happy to be fire when the mobs die like crazy to it, but some places it would seem some other element would be better. I'd be happy to have a fire build, an earth build, an air build, and combinations of all of them with others like water. But I need to know what the mobs are weak against. Is there a resource that lets you know what mobs are in a zone and what they are strong against and weak against? I've looked about to no avail so far, though the strategy guide may have all that. I rarely buy a strat guide because they're usually written too early in a game's history to be correct upon launch, let alone after patches, but if this info is in this one I could be persuaded. Otherwise a handy link to mob weaknesses to elements would be helpful. Thanks. |
