Is there a command to default pet names?
I just picked up a dire black widow for my ranger last night in the underworld, but i forgot i used to have a bear and named it already...i was just wondering if there was a command to default the petname.

I've never heard of a command that does this, so I'd have to say that no, there isn't.
But don't hold me to that, because if I'm wrong and you come after me with knives, I'll cry. |

Currently I believe that there is not a comand to default your pet name. However, I can not confirm this as I am not sure if it exists. If it does exist then disregard what I said previous to this sentence.

I believe he means that he has changed his Pet Name already and would wish to change it back. You could always type in the name to what your pet would have been called, for example if you changed your Elder Wolf's name to say 'Random' and you wanted to change it back you could always type /petname Elder Wolf

To the above post, the problem comes in where the pet's default name is longer than 12 characters. It's what I've run into with my Melandru's Stalker.
I haven't been able to find a command to reset the pet's name to default, though I've tried many things. It would be nice if they put in such a command, as it appears there currently isn't one. |

BTW, while we talk about pet. I noticed that after my pet turned level 11 (or when i turned level 12 and increase beast mastery) the name of my pet was changed. ??
Instead of "Melandru's Stalker", it was "Playful Stalker". Any idea wth is that? |

You can change it as many times as you want, but you can never get the first name that it had the first time, unless you remember it. (/namepet *****)

yup the Snow wolf levels up before your eyes. When I was level 10 my Melandru's Stalker was level 11. I was level 12 when I ditched the stalker for a level 5 wolf. By the time I was level 19 the Wolf was 18. However, now I have my level 20 bear. Thinking about switching to Black Widow Spider though. (Please all forum members don't turn this topic onto a debate on which is the best pet theres plenty of other threads to do that)

I leveled my pet from 5 to 18 JUST by doing Thunderhead Keep over and over [not out of choice, that's just from failing]. I didn't even bother with comfort, i just let it tag along, if it dies then too bad.
Of course i'm a M/R so my pet never actually entered battles [i never attack] and only attacked when something was ganging me. So at lvl 5 it managed to live quite a bit longer. |
