Armor Requirements
The online manual says that if you use a weapon without meeting the requirements, it acts like a level 5 weapon (~5-7 damage).
What happens if you try to use -armor- and don't meet the requirements? What is the equivalent armor rating of it? Also if the weapon or armor has special abilities (Adrenaline on hits for example) do you still receive them if you don't meet the requirements? |

Armor has no requirements.
Edited to add: Concerning weapon mods, if they don't have their own requirement, then you get full benefit. For example, take this staff: No matter what your level is, how high your Fire Magic is, or even what professions you are, you will always get the +13 energy, +29 life, and 10% skill recharge. But you will need that 13 in Fire Magic to do full damage.

Shields do tho! So I think the question is..
Wjhat def do shields give if you equip them but don't met the reqirements? IE a shield, defense 9, which needs say Tactics 5 and I have nothing in tactics. What defense would I get from the shield? And the 2nd thing he asked is still relevant. do special bonuses on weapons/shields still work at 100% if you don't met the requirements for the shield/weapon? |

Well on my monk i had a smiting staff that gave me an extra 5 energy. With a req. of 6 smiteing. i only had 5 and i still got the energy bonus. So i dont really know but i got the energy bonus so is the req. thing all a big hoax?

hi
kinda same but off topic is what can a ranger hold where the shield is if they are always using bow which is always 2 handed? isnt that a bit of disadvantage to not hold another item to enhance themself? |

this is correct, but sometimes you'll come across an item that has specific requirements for the mods. for example, i had a hammer that was 18-32 damage, req. 7 hammer mastery, and did +20 to health which required 5 strength.

Can someone answer the question concerning the sheilds? Im gussing that if you dont have the required amount in tactics or stremgth for the sheild, then the defense is cut (well, this is an obvious assumption). But what i wana know is how much is the defense cut?
