Am I stupid??? - Guild Wars Forums

I have just started out a new M/W and have got him to searing. I thought I might try and get my lvl 20 R/W topick him up a decent holy or smiting rod/staff. I have pretty much gnored wand/staff/rod drops on my Ranger so I cant recall the frequency of such, but as I headed out lions arch or gates of kryta to find a good monk weapon I have been stunned to see that every wand/rod/staff drop is earth/air/fire/water magic based, thus needing these skills to use.

Why am I not seeing Monk type drops? Are the drops geared toword the character you are using or dictated by the creature you kill??? If so what cratures should I be killing to get Monk like drops???

The profession of the mob you kill tends to be the profession attribute of the item that drops. Find a place with lots of monk mobs and you should be set.

Hmmm, what would constitute a Monk MOB??? I can't think of any....

a better option is to get a collectors item, check out this thread for the collector locations and what they offer/want in exchange.

Collector locations

for monks, generally you would want a foci or a staff that gives lots of mana. weapon dmg isnt a priority since most of the time you would be busy healing/casting spells.
