Unbalanced Character Classes?
It's come to my attention... less so in the earlier levels, but the higher up one goes... groups tend to solely seek out the never ending influx of Warrior/Monk types... singling out other classes.
I wouldn't say that this combination of classes is overpowered, but rather that the combinations that stray away from these intense healers is far more unbalanced when matched against them. Leaving many people frustrated and aggrivated, spending 15-30min. trying to get a group that may be good or a complete flop. YES... it's true all classes should be different therefore encouraging interclass mingling in groups. But something appears to be off somewhere right now. Whether the classes need another good look and tweak. Perhaps offering other classes larger skills in healing abilities that perhaps require more energy than would a monk or significantly increasing the power of the armors. Another idea would be tweaking the AI Henchmen in some way. They're there to offer those who like many of late are finidng themselves stuck without groups a way to complete quests on their own. Perhaps if a player is with an all Henchman group these NPCs are significantly stronger than they would be if you were in a group with more real players. As is there isn't much need to "penalize" further by having henchman. They already take their fair share of the drops and gold, (which I also think has become suddenly limited in what is dropped). Or instead of tweaking the Henchmen... what if a spawn's difficult was based upon the amount in your group to some extent? I'm not really sure how this would work, but being my first post and not really sure if this belongs in this topic I wanted to pose these thoughts to you and get your opinions on what you all think could be changed to better the game. |

Well with the right builds potentially any class could take out any other. Simply saying that without the right skills and players knowing it seems the W/Mo is the most over used char type and apparently the most sought after... usually leaving any other class in the dust for a chance at joining a group to advance.
With what I've seen people say about Necros, be damned if I ever try one anytime soon. 80% of the time a necro player gets booted from a group wihtout even the chance to prove if they're actually good or not. lol |

At high levels of playing (FoW/UW), I see all classes being asked for, except for maybe Mesmers. A Trapping Ranger, Blood Necro, Elementalist, or Mesmer are usually more beneficial to a groupt than a second or third Warrior.
Still, while Elementalists, Monks, and Warriors are the most desired classes for groups, I don't think that it's unbalanced, since (except for Monks, of course), they aren't any more necessary to a group than Rangers, Necromancers, or Mesmers. |

I managed to steal a gold max fellblade the other day from under the henchmen, what are the odds I would get it from a tundra giant with 7 henchmen in party?
Anyway, Anet makes the AI as good as possible, it's not a matter of always making henchmen 2nd best, it's a matter of the limits of todays technonolgy. They could tweak them some, then all manner of problems could arrise |

If they henchmen were over powered for their level (like 18 in their attribute, concidering they normally use 1-2 attributes, and only have 1 class) or perhaps armor that is 10AL above what a player could get or a weapon that is 25% better, it would make up for the limits of technology and would be easier to handle the game with henchmen
because really...until lvl 20, the archer henchmen spams wilderness survival skills, but has no points in the line therefore getting almost no bonus...and just wasting time, im sure its the same with the other henches as well |
