Curse

Okay, it all started when I decided to start a PvP only W/Mo. Things were going great, I rarely lost matches and could basically trash anyone who dare stood in front of me. One day, my team and I were on a winning spree, we went on for about 10 consecutive wins... Until a certain N/Me showed up. What I saw was unbelievable. He dished out about seven curses on me in less than two second's time (literally, two effing seconds.) I ran up to him.. err, walked. (had faintheartedness or something weird cast on me) Tried slashing him and poof, he dodged every. single. blow. I don't recall seeing a blindness condition among the thousands of curses he cast upon me.. All I could do was slash at the air while helplessly watching my health drain at mach speed. I was resed twice, but only to have the same thing happen to me again each time. After he was done with me, he went on to help his other members rape my whole team. (Needless to say, we lost that match.)
Anyway, after that whole traumatic experience, I was inspired to start a N/Me of my own trying to manipulate the exact same ungodly thing that shattered the pride of my W/Mo to pieces. But.. Now, I'm stuck at this question:

"How the f**k?"

I'm so confused as to how he did it. Could someone of infinite wisdom here enlighten me somehow? I can understand the cursing part, but the dodging just blows my mind. I looked all over the skill list for dodging and found nothing like what I saw.

(Another note: The N/Me cast poison on me.. Like it was just some curse you could throw on anyone at anytime. Is there actually a skill that allows you to do that?)

He spelled himself up with poison + disease and then transfered it to you. Then proceeded to give you the holy necro/mesmer smackdown. What I don't get is if you had made this "awesome" W/Mo for PvP, why did you let him do that to you. No hex/condition removal ?

Unsure on the enchantment thing. >_> And I never said he was "awesome" just pointing out I never had much trouble with anything, not even other Necro/Mesmers until that certain player that could so effortlessly beat me down. Also I was somewhat new at the time, having no idea on how important a hex-removal could be.
