He forgot to mention completing the normal part of Dragon's Lair. When you have done that, only then you can go to Drocknar's. Or you could go through the seemingly impossible Snake Path below Beacon's Perch...

Or you could get runned from beacon's perch to forge. If you goto beacon's perch, people will be shouting out "Running to forge for 3K" etc. They will run you.
But remember, NEVER give a upfront fee.
