Technical Bow Questions for Experienced Rangers(i need some advice on some perfects)
hey all,
ok heres the deal.. i have 3 perfect bows: Half Moon 15-28 gold Dmg +15% over 50% Horn Bow 15-28 gold Dmg +15% over 50% Recurve Bow 15-28 gold Dmg + 20% under 50% ------ Now considering this, and using this website as reference: http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=355903 i want to make the perfect build of bows for my ATM n00b ranger... my main question is considering the inherent 10% armor pen of the horn bow, and the fast refire of the 1/2moon, which would do the most damage per time with a 5/1 vamp mod??what about with a 20% enchant grip and firey bow string with conjure flame? which would work the best for which? so heres what im thinking: 1/2moon with 5/1 vamp and a +30hp and Horn Bow with firey string and 20% enchant for conjure spell (i imagine would do great damage with this setup -- OR -- 1/2moon with firey string and 20% enchant for conjure spell (i imagine would do great damage with this setup Horn Bow with 5/1 vamp and a +30hp help PLZZZ ANY AND ALL Advice is appreciated P**S** not sure where the recurve falls in, what are some good mods to help out when health gets below 50%? and i kno recurve/composite are great for interrupters so ne advice on that also appreciated. |

I'd personally stick a Vamp String only on Short and Halfmoon Bows. With spamming skills (Barrage, Tiger's, Quickening, Read the Wind), it will net faster damage.
The horn bow would be nice coupled with the Fiery Bowstring etc. BTW, even with a vamp string, I'd consider the Defensive Bowgrip over the +30 grip. |

what would be good to pair a +30 bowgrip with then?
(because i do have an armor +5 bow grip, but was considering using it on the recurve, to kind of prolong my demise when my health is low, along with a zealous string to try to regain some of that used up energy ) and are sundering strings good at all? just seems like a 1/10 chance for 10% armor pen is kind of a waste, unless neone has some technical data showing how much dmg that really amounts too... |

Well, there was a thread a bit back stating for a Ranger and Warrior Builds, extra Defense pretty much wins out over HP. I'd just like to get more Defense, since I'd be taking less damage per hit. A Fortitude +30 grip would be useful too, so don't discount it. I'd consider putting the +30 on a long bow, extra HP if they have nukes.
As far as Armor Penetration at 1/10 chance...I'd rather not. The 10% AP means that you take 10% off the foes Armor Level. So, say he has 100 AL...you'll be bringing him down to 90 AL for the attack. It adds up to quite a bit. But, personally, if you're looking for AL, just hit them with Penetrating Attack. Great skill, and not too costly. Edit: I just use my Shortbow for Interruption. Doesn't seem to do too bad a job. The only things I really can't interrupt are those quick spells. Like Healing Orison. Prolly because I haf no skillz. |
