Monk armor and a question... - Guild Wars Forums

My healing monk currently wears Wanderer's armor. A guildmate recently ran me to an area (i forget the name) where several types of armors and tattoos are available. While I want, and need, to upgrade my armor, I am very confused. I can't tell what is better than what and what combinations are best. Please help! My monk has points in divine power, healing and water elemental.

Also, I've seen a few posts that talk about where on a person damage is taken. I am wondering how we know damage is taken in different areas of the body? Is the answer simply because we can buy armor for different areas of the body and there must be a reason for that? I'm curious so please let me know.
