I've been using henchmen since the beginning and I'm finding that they are holding me back in that they are weak compared to some of the Charr that I'm up against. I'm now Lvl 8 and my henchmen are all still Lvl 6.

My question is: can henchmen level up or do I have to find other henchmen that are more experienced and if so where are they?

Henchmen do not level up. However the further you get in the game the higher level henchmen you can find in the later towns.

dont worry after u finish fighting the charrs you will get to yaks bend, better hench also harder dwarves

that is incorrect, henchmen will level. If you don't break up your party or stay out long enough they will level.

Artuo is right, it should be mentioned that if you enter a city their level will reset to whatever the henchmen default level is at that city.

Are there any screenshots of this? I have taken henchmen on very long journeys for hours at a time and they never level. Even if they do level, in all practical terms they don't level while using them normally since you'd have to keep them outside for an obscene amount of time.

yeah im going to need some screen shots.. i take henchem everywhere and i still have seen nothing... perhaps one day i should spend all day trying to lvl the ones in old ascalon.. or not

I think they mean that if you take say, henchmen from Ascalon City to Piken Square, they'll "level" because the level of the henchmen increases at Piken anyway.

nope I took level 6 henchies out for a few hours and get them all up to level 8. It takes a long time though

take just one henchmen out and share the xp.

you'll just have one awesome sidekick henchman.

Bone Horrors can level too... or at least they could before. And then they turn to dust, it's such a waste.

Just because they level doesn't mean they use the attribute points they get. Unless they have it coded into them that when they're X level they have X attribute points in these attributes leveling them up is pointless.

If however they do have the ability to increase their attributes along with the levels it seems like it's still worthless. Because they don't retain the levels through towns there are very few places if any that you could actually use this as an advantage.

That said, it's still pretty cool that you can theoretically have a lvl 10 or so hench in ascalon with enough work. (anyone know if they gain quest xp?)

Once when i was out fighting Stefan seems to get the animation like hed leveled, you know the yellow light and tinkling noise but his level didnt seem to change

I think im going to grab some hench from ascalon and head for the lions arch area and see if they lvl

yeah i seen this happened before, i was running around doing quests with one other person (don't remember his class, i think its r/monk) We got 2 more henchies (ascalon city; pre-searing) the henchies went from level 4 to level 6 when i reach Grendich Courthouse. Althought the moment i walk into the courthouse, it wipe out their exp.
