The Purple and the Gold
Just wanting a few clarifications on gold and purple drops. I understand how the rune drops work, what with the coloured salvage items having to be identified to unlock the runes, then expert salvaged if you actually want that rune in-game, but what about coloured weapon drops? Some of them have upgrades that can be salvaged, but others that I've picked up can't actually be expert salvaged for anything. Are these weapons going to appear when I go to create a PvP-only char? Is there anything special I have to do to them in order for this to happen, or can I just sell them if I don't want to use them and still receive the benefit? And what about trading coloured items? If I give an axe haft to my buddy that he hasn't unlocked yet, will it show up in PvP-only for him as well?
On a bit of a tangent, I think there should be an, "Are you sure you want to do this?" screen when you normal salvage a coloured drop. I've done this twice already just trying to clear up space in my inventory before the rest of the party gets too far off. Luckily I always identify everything before going for salvage, but it still really sucked. One of them was actually a rune I wanted to use. Finally, I was also wondering how it's best to go about finding a decent guild. I kinda picked up on my own that most street-side guild recruiters aren't much to speak of, but how do I find anyone else? I don't think I'll ever be so serious about this game as to be playing in a top 20 guild, but I think that being part of a guild which is somewhat less hardcore but still full of respectable people would be quite nice. I think that I'm going to want to play in something other than a PUG eventually. A bit of good advice once in a while sure wouldn't hurt, either. |

There are some forum boards that have a recruiting section and you could try there. Or you can talk to people in-game. Just ask if they are recruiting, what their guild does, ect. Most guilds also have a website that you could find if you google I bet. Your welcome to drop me a line in-game if you'd like to take a tour or our guild. (IGN:Brother Marion/Marion Hammerfist) And you can always join a guild and if you dont like what you see, you can always leave too.

identifying before you salvage isn't always the best idea...sometimes you salvage and it's something you can't use for your PvE character and really don't want to unlock for your PvP character...these items sell for more on the market Unidentified so the buy can identify it.
try equipping the weapon before you ID it...all of the attributes of that weapon will be present even if its not identified...and in alot of cases you can tell what the weapon does..For instance Vamp upgrades, fortitude upgrades, energy upgrades...and you can use this as a selling point for PvP players looking to unlock that item. They'll pay more for an item if they know what they are going to unlock. and no once you've unlocked the item you can't give it to a friend for him to unlock. |
