Why was my post closed? - Guild Wars Forums

Hi,
I'm new to this board and I posted a question this morning and after 41 peoples read and no answer it was closed... Am I doing something wrong or is it normal to get your questions closed that quick?

You might have started a thread that's already been done like a hundred times. Try searching the forum for the thread you started and see what comes up.

Not trying to be rude in the least, but you should really PM that question, respectfully, to the moderator who closed it. I have had a post closed before and PM'd the Mod to find out why. It was explained, made perfect sense and that was that.

I have to say though that 9 times out of 10 the search yields garbage or such a general response that it takes much too long to find what you're looking for. The problem imo isn't people asking the same question twice, but the search limitations on the forums. But then again, this forum is free so I'll just go back in my hole

It was a pointless thread you had started. Why? Because it has been answered numerous times in numerous posts. Either search the forums for build ideas, or make one of your own and post in The Campfire for commentary. It isn't that hard to search, even if the search feature isn't as appealing to many

I don't know if I'm the one that closed it or not (I reply to the post saying it's closed and why, so unless it didn't go through for some reason then it might not have been me) but either way if you want an answer like this, PM a moderator, preferably one that has power in that forum.
