Phoenix working correctly?
Another question for my Pyro, but I got Phoenix and it tells me this..
A fiery phoenix rises at your location, striking nearby foes for 7-91 fire damage, and flies out to your target, exploding on impact. This explosion strikes for an additional 15-75 fire damage. Ok I use it on a foe, but I only see the first damage count coming up, while it says it explodes and deals an addition fire damage? Am I using it right? |

Aye, it does 2 AOE's--first near you, second one near your target. Very effective if used right. Actually very effective if used wrong.

ohhhhh, now I get it, it took me a while to read that and understand it, but yeah this move is damn good with like 6 all grouped up on one. The combo I'm loving now is Fire Storm+Immolate, it drops one heavy armored guy pretty fast. Thanks for the replys.

After testing this move again, this move is good. I gathered up like 10 Ice Elementals and boom, they were all down. Thanks for the tips again.

Its one of my favorites while playing as elementalist (lvl 15 only). I try to equip myself with phoenix, fireball and iceshards so I can shoot all three off one after the other at the start of a battle. If I am lucky, I can get them off before the targets move away from each other (works well with a warrior in the group) and the combined damage from all three area spells is devastating.
Works of course if my targets are surrounding me (in that case I get both near and far benefits from phoenix). |

What I do love as fire Elem is the following skills : Flame burst, inferno + phoenix. Together, they deal heavy dmg at close range.
After Sanctum Cay, I don't even bother taking flame burst / inferno, I prefer to be far away from the monsters... they deal too much dmg |

Meteor is good, too. Another AOE, but this time, with AOE KD.

I just acquired meteor shower last night. Haven't really tried it out much, but the great disadvantage with it is the slow recharge time. I can use phoenix several times in a battle, but maybe meteor shower can only be used once?

Also, if you have them use flameburst and inferno, just get amongst all the nasties and let the fire begin, use them one after the other and it''l take most down....
Damn good spells, mine do about 120 damage each time and flameburst resets almost immediately |
