A Few Questions...
I've been playing for an hour now and have a few questions about the game:
1), I picked a warrior as my Profession but I seem to have necromancer skills - is this right? and how the hell did I end up with them? 2), Why is the Inventory so small? I find myself killing 8-12 things then needing to return to a town to sell up. 3). This PvP and RP things really got my head spinning, at the begging I picked RP so does this mean I am on a none PvP server? 4). After clearing an area and needing to return to town its a right bore to have to run all the way back, are there no town teleport scrolls or something? 5). Why is everything in an instance? Its an mmo for gods sake how can you meet random people on your travels if your always by yourself? 6). I'm guessing since everything???s in its own instance there are no PK'ers 7). Is there any way to enlarge the text on screen as my pc monitor is a flat screen one that is mounted on the wall about half a meter away from when I sit and type ect? 8). Did anyone else think any of the above about the game when they started? and if so do you think its for the best or did you stop playing Guild Wars because of it? Thanks for your time, Blueprint |

1. You can have a secondary profession, and obviously you weren't paying attention when you chose necromancer as your secondary in pre-searing.
2. The backpack holds 25(?) items, and you can purchase or aquire a belt and 2 bags that hold 5 items each. In addition, you can increase the bag size to 10 by using a rune of holding, and you can also purchase a permenant stash for 100(?) gold that adds 25(?) spaces. And 25 item slots should be enough. 3. You can create PvP characters that can ONLY PvP, but start at level 20 and can use any skill you have unlocked as well as very powerful weapons with upgrades you have unlocked. You get the best armor as well, and can use runes you've unlocked. PvP characteres can only go into certain zones that are made for PvP only. Your RP character can go into these zones as well, but won't have all the luxuries a PvP character has in terms of gear. 4. Click M (default) or whatever your map button is. It brings up a large map, and you can click on any town and have the option to teleport there. 5. You have to meet up with them in towns then leave the town together. When you get into the new area, you will be in the group you created when in town. 6. If you are talking about people who hostile you when you leave town then immediately slaughter you, yes, there are no PK'ers. 7. I don't know. 8. Most of those things you listed above are good things. |

1) Well, sounds like you talked to the Necromancer trainer. You'll get a sub-profession through the course of the game. If that's what you want (Necromancer skills), then you'll need to go through the town where the Necro trainer is to finish that part. I wanna say the town's name is Sardalac, but I'm not sure about Pre-Searing :X
2) There is a way to expand the inventory. In pre-Searing, there is only a Belt pouch available, and it adds 5 slots. In post-Searing, there are Bags (you can have 2) that have 5 slots, and can be expanded to 10 slots with a Rune you can buy from most traders. 3) Your RPG character can participate in PvP battles, but not until you get past the Searing. Then you have to find the Arenas. I'll leave that up to you. Don't worry about a PvP only character until you've unlocked some good skills. 4) There is a teleport option, and it's free. Open the map (M) then click on the town you want to travel to. 5) Well, it's not really an MMO. All the towns are MMO (sorta), but the fields are totally clear of players, unless you team up in a town. 6) Almost. I've seen some very talented "team mates" flood an unsuspecting party with monsters, kill all the other players, then wait until the loot became available to everyone. If I ever see anyone doing that again, I'll try to get them banned. I'm not kidding. 7) I do believe that there is an option in the Options menu somewhere, but I'm not sure where at the moment. 8) Yes, and it's for the best. The game is a tactical game, after all. What's digital life without a few challenges? [EDIT] Well, aB beat me by quite a bit, so meh. Also, the storage account is in post-Searing, and it only costs 50g per character, but it's free to PvP only characters. Last edited by VGJustice; Aug 02, 2005 at 09:04 PM // 21:04.. |

just accepting the quest will give him necromancer secondary skills(3 of them)...he doesn't have to be a necro secondary unless he has already accepted it. In your party list to the left of your name it should say W/Ne if you've accepted the secondary necro class. If it doesn't say W/Ne it means you took the quest and haven't completed it yet. Just go to any of the other secondary quest NPCs and take that quest to erase the skills from your bar.

You can tell whether or not you have accidentally chosen Necromancer as your secondary profession by looking at your name. You will just have 'W' if you are just a Warrior with no secondary profession. If you did choose Necromancer, you will have 'W/N'. Unfortunately there's no way of changing your secondary profession until much later on in the game, so if you have chosen it by accident and don't want it, the only way to deal with it would be to delete your character and start over. Once you have passed through the Academy, you can purchase additional inventory space in the form of two bags, for 100g each from a Merchant. These bags hold 5 items each, though each can be increased to ten items with a Rune of Holding. Quote:
The other questions are already addressed sufficiently by other people. Quote:
