Strength gives a nominal amount of armour piercing, and allows for strength-related skills to improve. Look over the skills which require strength; if they suit your playing style, invest a few points in them. It would probably be best to have a few more points in tactics than strength, but it's up to you.

Depends what you're attacking.
If you are attacking something with a low armor level i.e. a castor mob then the penetration will be negligible(sp?). Conversely a high armor level opponent will be affected much more by armor piercing. There is an article on this site that describes exactly how armor penetration works: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...nics-id674.php As for str vs. tactics - that completely depends on what type of character you're trying to build. |

^ big dittos there. Both Strength and Tactics have their own uses and strenghts (no pun intended)
Just use one or even both if it suits your playing style. I mean, that *is* why they included refund points, right? |

For pve i'm mainly using tactics, just because i love the defensive stances : gladiators defense and bonettis are really nice if you're tanking many bad guys.
Those are also quite good for a bit of solo farming, gladiators gives you damage for each block and and bonettis gives you energy to feed things like cyclone axe or 2nd class damage/heal skills. For pvp (not random) i prefer strength over tactics. I like berserker stance, warriors cunning and all the nice stuff that prevents people from running away. The extra armor penetration comes in handy, too. |

The Guru link gives a more relevant, simple example: Quote:
Penetration is particularly useful when dealing with more heavily armoured foes like Warriors and Rangers. This is when you start to notice the importance of strength. |
