so is this agains the eula or what? Ive seen other posts but they are just confusing. some people are saying its illegal, some that some chests are ok but others are concidered exploits (how do you know which are which), and some saying its ok but only for x amount of time or x times doing it (how long and how many times?). Somebody even said you should not do it in areas that are know to have a lot of bots because you might get your account closed along with the bots. Could that really happen? Would they ask you a few questions first? I just want to make sure that if I try this I wont get banned.

You can farm chests all you want, it's not all that productive anymore, since most of the decent chest farming areas have been nerfed. Just don't make it look like you are botting (i.e. leaving town at the same spot, and coming back again and again methodically without much time variation).

If you are going to farm chests, do it for a little while, go somewhere else for a while, then come back.

It is almost impossable to look like a bot to GW (you can to other players, but that doenst matter in the end). A bot does the same thing over and over without any changes. A person playing will have some changes even if they are minor. You may have to walk a little more to the right to miss that mob, or will stand in the town for an extra 5 seconds to read something that caught your eye, that type of thing. A bot wont do that.

Is it really that hard not to look like a bot? Wouldnt it be kind of natural? And why would you need to "try" not to look like one? If they thought you were one wouldn't they ask a few questions or run afew tests? Not just ban you on sight.

I dont know if ANet would contact you if they think you're a bot. They have a very strict rule against botting so just try to avoid looking like a bot when chest farming. Try running around in circles when you port back to town.

just avoid mobs or do a different emote every few entrances, stop to talk to your guild
