We don't know exactly what the new chapter will bring. It's not supposed to be available until sometime in the first half of 2006

the free "expansion" is the summer update that adds that something furnace area.

chapter two is an expansion with much more content that you have to buy, i remember reading one of the FF interviews which said it would come in the first half of 2006.

And I did read somewhere you will have to buy it in stores, just like you did the first chapter. I am concerned about how they say they will release one every 6 months. I mean, I prefer quality over quantity. Nothing good every came out of a rushed product.

Characters will continue into Chapter 2

Chapter 2 will be available to buy in Q1 next year, hopefully.

Nothing else has been confirmed as to its content other than it feature roughly the same amount of content as the current game, while introducing new skills.

These are (hinted) only for ascended characters, although the updates will include some things (and maybe even a small bonus zone, we could hope) for lower level characters. As the name implies, they are free

They don't include any new races, but will include new monsters, quests, npc's and items... and the zones of course. Does anyone think (just hit me now) that Grenth's Footprint could involve the catacombs?

Chapter 2: A full expansion. No, a sequel that connects to the previous game. I'm sure we'll be able to bring our characters into the expansion since they're after continuation. And I hope that they include at least 1 new character slot, at least 50% to 100% more storage space and... I really hope it's in Cantha, I'm sure it's in Cantha.

No. Every purchase you make in the continuation of the Guild Wars saga will be your choice. If you purchase new chapters, you will gain access to new regions of the world, new skills and abilities, new items, new professions, and much more.
