Summer Updates - Guild Wars Forums

anyone know if the new "summer updates" are going to come out this year -if so can u gimmie an approxitmate month/time/season lol...also are the two new places-"grenths footprint" and "sorrows furnace" going to be missions? areas(shiverspeaks, crystal desert, etc)? or just two cities?

or is it like UW and Fow- The three no reason ghosts of gods thingies- lyssa, melandru and uh dwayna...but there is there and the updates are going to give 2 areas.. im confused plz help : )

So far as I know they're just two zones, but who knows for sure. I'd assume that they'll come out here within the next month or so, pretty soon me thinks. Just new zones, maybe new monsters, basically just another place to fight for a while I predict.

To be honest I wish they were two new cities instead, but hey, can't please everyone...(especially the almighty PieXags).

last I heard there was a minor setback on something in the new area. and it needed fixed before release.

if they can nerf good farm spots really fast- since they are zones..whats taking them so long.. ? god arena net is so obsessed with the "Skills, not hours played" crap

dis is EXACTLY going to happen, its going to drop good drops, but its going to be really hard....and then some person is going to think of a build and use that build to solo it and farm it.. tell few friends words get spread they nerf it so no one goes there anymore ...

ArenaNet said they have new missions and quests. Missions...if i am not mistaken, mean new cities.
It's going to be quite difficult i expect...since it comes off lornars pass.

This is the reason I have bought this game - it is about skills. If I wanted to be in the world where the most addicted players rule, I??d go for classic MMORPGs.
If you don??t like the skill system, try the WoW or dozens of similar games

heh thnx for the suggestions but remember im poor.. i cant afford pay monthly games
-.-....and diablo 2 is like one of them but i think that game is just stupid..and also, this game isnt AlL about skills no offense.. if u have a level 5 char with all skills- and u fight a level 20 with same skills u would lose..because the level 20 spent more time then the level 5

Yes, you are right in this point. However getting to the level cap (to be competitive in character stats meaning) takes only a few days unlike the other MMORPG??s.

If you've already explored the whole map, will these new areas become visible instantly? Obviously I don't mean to travel to them, but will you be able to see the portals on your map?

Nah they wont pre-nerf the zones, it takes the fun out of seeing all the whining later on ;p

Actually, he's not necessarily right. If the level 5 and the level 20 both have the same skills and the same equipment, the level 20 won't necessarily win. Yes the L20 has an advantage due to hp and energy, but if they don't know how to use the skills they got effectively, the L5 could walk all over them assuming the L5 does know how to use the skills effectively.

That may be true, but the L20 also has a lot more attribute points. So assuming the L20 doesn't waste their attrib points and they have a basic understanding of their skills, the L5 shouldn't have a chance.

Well it is summer - go outside, throw some beach and stuff.

The every week update spoiled the people a lot. - OMG NO UPDATE I HATE THIS GAME SUCK I WANT MY MONEY BACK WTF.

I am at the Maagus point, If I want a mmorpg I will play one. Currently I do not have that much time (4-8+ hours a day) to play and If I had I just CANT play for such long (except if there is a guild meeting to do a pvp night - that is where the time passes like a blink).

The point about skills is not about 5lvl vs 20 lvl but about - you can make yer hero 20 lvl for 7 days normal play and unlock your primary skills for about another 7 days even less play. The skill is that a cunning group can synchronise and make their builds in a way that with no thinking a so called "pug" will never make.

Thinking > time played.

i read there are going to be new items im guessing that prolly isnt new weapons or its gonna go crazy- ppl are gonna pay way more then what it will be worth in a few months.. so im just gonna stick with the items now maybe the price of crystalline swords will drop-IF there is going to b new weapons.. but im guessin new items as in like shards, ectoplasms, or salvage items

Where did you get that info? Gaile mentioned that the new quests would be very involved (like missions are) but nothing about actual missions.

I'm lucky to get in one and a half hours on any particular night after I put the kid down, provided he actually goes to sleep!

I wish I had 4-8 hours to blow every day!!!
