Secondary Dilemma - Guild Wars Forums

Well, I just started my second character a few hours ago(an Ele) and now its that time to choose a secondary profession. Oh the choices, but I've already narrowed it down to two. Those two being 1) Monk and 2) Mesmer. I've gotten to the Ring of Fire with my first character and all that but he's not very adept for soloing. A blood/death necro mostly + little bit of ranger marksmenship= having to rely on henchmen a lot.

I know a lot about the two professions so I'm not asking for big long Profession analysis, I would just like some other opinions on which would be best for Soloing later in the game

hello, I've been playing a Ele/Mo until ring of fire and Ifound that untill the southern shiverpeaks you can just use ur fire/air/water/earth magic 2 do dmg, however when you reach the southern shiverpeaks yoy may want to change 2 a healer instead, you'll find that you can heal more then the original monk and therefor help more people.
I find playing this character is very fun and although not the most original its not bad, the healing skills also add 2 the almighty self heal of the Elementalist *kuch kuch.

Although The Monk is best for the health, the mesmer would fit in fine with the energy, with energy stealing skills u could do some serious dmg (and die if u cant regen fast enough

)

I would pick the Monk, and if you dont like it, then change in the desert and then play the mesmer. to hell when u complete every proffession u can change ur 2nd aprof forever when u want 2.

id pick the monk tho.
