? about upgrades
If you add an upgrade to a weapon with other bonuses, do you lose others on the weapon?

If it already has an upgrade for that spot, then yes, the new upgrade will replace it. So if you had a Fiery Sword and had an upgrade to make it an Icy Sword, then obviously it can't be both. And if you had an Axe of Defese and wanted to make it an Axe of Fortitude, then obviously it can't be both. And if you replace an upgrade with a new one, then the old one is lost permanently.

Every weapon except caster one handed items can be upgraded with a [prefix] and a [suffix]. For example, hilt/pommel for swords, head/wrapping for staffs. If you have a Staff with a suffix that gives +4 defense, and you try to add a staff wrapping (suffix) of fortitude that gives +30 health, it will overwrite the +4 defense but not the head mod. All upgrades overwritten are lost, they are not given back. To sum it up, upgrades only overwrite the corresponding upgrade on the weapon.

however, if you upgrade a weapons with just a natural bonus on it like "+15% damage (while health is above 50%)" that kind of bonus will not be lost in the upgrading process. The only things that change are the prefix and suffix upgrade bonuses.
