Elemental Strings, and Why Exist?
I have searched and cannot find the answer anywhere, so please forgive if the answer is elsewhere.
Is there a certain way to know what types of monsters are effected by particular elemental bow strings or spells? I figure Imps gather more damage from Icy that Fiery, and Shiverpeaks' monsters more from Fiery than Icy, but: - Lighning Drakes hurt more by Ebon String than any other? - Trees and Aloe hurt more by Shocking String than any other? - Hydras by Icy? - what about Skeletons, Undead, Charr, etc...? Is it a shot in the dark or some take extra damage from elemental strings and some don't - educated guessing is best used? Does the Aura color on bosses have anything to do with it? - Blue aura, use Fiery - Red aura, use Icy - Green aura, use Shocking - Yellow aura, use Ebon (this seems to make the most sense) Thansk in advance - GW on!!! |

Complete guesswork, I'm afraid. The ones that use fire spells are most *likely* (not always, I've found) vulnerable to ice damage, and vice versa. Earth <-> water, same relationship. As for critters that don't use elemental spells, I've no idea.

In the desert, everything is immune to fire, in icy world, they are more sensitive to fire, etc. Quote:

Thanks for all the help so far - granted, I'm not much farther in the answer, but it is nice to know other people are pondering.
Maybe I will have to run some experiments to find out - If I do, I'll post what I find out. I would think these are the 'opposites': ...Undead - Holy (not adversely effected by elemental strings) ...Fire - Ice ...Earth (Ebon) - Air (Shocking) Ahhhhh, another question: are Skeletons undead? Should they be? I think for GW, Skeletons are NOT considered Undead because they would not have a special BowGrip for both then. Should they be? Hell Yeah - skeletons come from dead people and if it's trying to kill me, I'd say it was now considered 'undead'! |
