Guild W Guide Book -monk armor +65 can't find in game from crafter
I just bought the Official Guild Wars Game Guide book and it lists the types of armor crafters can make and what they require. It lists 2-3 options for leggings, sandals, chest, arm wrappings all with armor +65 w energy bonus.
The only crafter I've found makes +60 Armor with +10 vs physical attacks or 10 vs elem. Has anyone found a crafter that offers armor +65 plus bonus like the Guild Wars Guide says is out there? Or is the book outdated cuz they've changed the game? THANKS Fohr T Too |

If this is true than everyone in Guild Wars with a caster has a serious problem, since they only have 60 armor. I don't know why the book says such a thing, but it ain't true.

Page 209 of the book says:
Silk Raiment - Coat - 1,500g - req 75 bolts cloth & 12 silk to give 65 Armor, Max energy +5 and armor sv cold -5. Silk Raiment - Coat - 15,000g (why the price hike??) 150 cloth & 15 silk - gives same as above OR Silk Raiment - coat - 15,000g - 150 cloth & 15 silk & 45 globs of ectoplasm!! and 45 obsidian shards -- yields the same as above!! The books has 2-3 items for each piece of armor except head armor. It's one of the reasons I bought the stupid book in the first place - so if it's totally bogus I'm returing it. Glad I didn't open the map. I get all the same info from this site as the book. |

it seems to me they're talking about armor crafters in droknar's forge and the 15k armor in FoW. They have the same stats but they look different.
And the book is indeed outdated on many other info. Last edited by Arvydas; Aug 09, 2005 at 07:06 PM // 19:06.. |

One armor option for each class was removed shortly before release, and the graphics for those armors were used for the collector armors that you'll find all over the game.
Elementalists lost the Master's set, Rangers the Hunter's set, Monks the Silk set. Mesmers lost the Regal set, with Virtuoso taking its graphics and Virtuoso's graphics going to collector armor. Necromancers lost the Fanatic set, with the normal Necromancer's set taking its graphic while the collector armor took the old Necromancer's graphic. The old Wyvern graphic became the collector graphic, and that set got a new graphic. Peace, -CxE

Thanks everyone. Time to sell the book. Just got it yesterday and haven't learned much except the maps with monsters listed are handy -- so I know which spells to bring.
Hope they thrown in a few rare supped up armor sets for folks to find -- would be nice seeing as we've reached our max in levels. Kinda takes the fun out of it when you stop leveling up in all areas.... Most elite skills are not much better than regular -- save for Mist Form and a few others. |
