Did they just intentionally make horn bows so crappy?
Slowest rate of fire, medium range, medium flight time....(i'm referring to ivory, shadow and horn bows of course) is there a point to this? Some hidden property? I really can't see a reason....if someone knows the reason, please tell me...

There is a rumor that these bow types have an innate 10% armor penetration. I can't confirm or deny this, but it seems like it makes sense. I'm pretty sure a horn bow will do more damage per arrow.

Ooooooo, and yeah, you probably can salvage dark remains for ectoplasm. Same thing as salvaging fur from charr hide. You can do it, but it'll take you a lot of em to find one.

Don't waste your money on it unless you have gold to spare I salvaged 50 total and got 3 stacks of glittering dust to show for it.

Ive seen some posts around, I dont think it was here, but someone took the time in a "controlled" experiment with numerous bows. They were unmoddified and all were max dmg with the same requirments. He had concluded that infact Ivory, Horn and Shadows bows all have the built in 10% armor penetration. Slap on a 10% Sundering Grip and get one with + dmg and you actually have quite a nasty weapon, well that is when the arrows hit their target.

Horn Bows are also very nice when you are relying on either Quick Shot or Quickening Zephyr, as the increase in attack speed somewhat negates the Horn Bow's slow rate of fire and makes the armor penetration rather handy.

Nah, even with the 10% AP I dont really like them. The range and arc on it are decent though.
