Do you foresee higher AL armors in the future?
It is just a thought.. but anyway I just figures that..
at 60 AL, you receiving 100% of the damage dealt. Supposing there are higher AL armors, wouldn't that be imbal for a chapter 2 character to come back to tyria and wretch havoc? Likewise Anet had the reassurance that players who choose not to buy new chapters would still be able to play competitively. Does that mean that even with the expo all we'll see is new armor designs, and bigger gold sinks? |

I have no idea. I have stopped trying to figure anything out anymore.
I would love to have higher armor for my Monk. Well me and a Zillion other people I am sure would highly enjoy that. |

Monks have nicely designed armors I think.. I particularly like the censor and saintly sets..

monks armors designs have been done by lazy designers
I mean look at the tatoos closely, they are all pixelated, as if antialiasing didn't exist and compare the armors of necros (or warriors) with the monks armors there is more complexity in the necro as a drawer myself, I would be ashamed if I was the one who did the monks armors |

An interesting question but i doubt we will see higher armours until the current sets are tweaked to peoples liking.
I would like to see higher armours AND higher enemies to balance it out in the next chapter. This sentence is more reserved for game suggestions but i would like to see magical armours that reduce DoT through absorbtion. Perhaps purchase special attachments for your armour for poison protection which reduce the DoT from that poison for one time only before it's expended. The same again for bleeding etc and magical DoT like phantasm. Armour upgrades would be fun and a great goldsink. I think the next chapter will have everything (well almost) that people have spoken of on these forums. Anet are fantastic at delivering peoples requests and since the next chapter is a long way off...we can expect a real treat i'm sure. I've got my brasso ready incase they give us new armour |

I dont think we will be seeing "better" armour, overall-stats-wise in the future. What we probably (hopefully) will be seeing, is armour with more diverse tradeoffs. So we might get Higher AL armor for some classes, but it will come with a greater penalty in some other areas. And vice versa. I'm pretty sure the whole point of GW is to avoid the "Stronger Stuff <--> Stronger Monsters" sort of pointlessness that many other games have.

actually there was a higher armor for monks. AL65 Silk Armor. But it was removed at launch. However since silk has been dropping more and more lately, and the trader never stopped trading or crafting it. it is possible it will make a return to use. during the beta you could get the silk armor in fissure of Woe, but it actually had a - dmg modifier for cold effects. everything else it was better armored and better magic bonus. Like judges armor, with wanderers Energy bonus.
since the launch it has been disabled, but does still appear in the strat guide as a possible upgrade in fissure. So it may at some point return... There are 3 other armors that had +5 extra armor for each piece in fissure options. but they too have been disabled. but the materials for them have not vanished from the game. and with recent patches have been dropping with greater frequency. as such this leads me to believe they too will reappear in the game eventually... |

Well since the game isnt meant to create huge divides between casual and non casual players I'd say no AL won't increase.

It'd be nice if there was more variety though. Runes for different classes that do different things (absorbtion for example). Like maybe for Rangers, greater armour penetration, longer shots, faster arrows etc. Then you'd have the cross class runes which as TD said, lowers the time of DoT, perhapse even increase your own DoT abilities.
Keeping with the current system as it is now, having only 5 runes on, they'd increase or decrease various things, all of them together would be uber, but you can only put 5 on, on top of that, you'd stick with the current Minor, Major and Superior system so there'd be penalties still. |

Saintly Rainment is one of the best looking armors in the game I'd reckon.

Hmm...I don't think Anet will make new armors available...maybe new armor styles and different combinations of armor (like +15 vs slashing), but not over the base AL level that is normal for each class. Why? People have spent lots on 15k armor...how would you like that to be all rendered useless? Then there would have to be a new set of "uber 15k" which has the higher AL level. Too complicated.

I would just like them to bring back the Adept's set, which was +5 vs elemental dmg, instead of forcing me to choose which element to have +15 against.

I would like to see new armors/weapons that have additional slots to improve/upgrade them and new drops that would add energy and hit points, maybe even another recovery of energy or hit point regen point to them. Armor wise they would remain the same, but, the increase value would be energy and hit points which wouldn't be a great change in the competitive nature of the game, but, still give players something to strive for instead of "just a look". Would like to be able to salvage "energy" out of drops as well as the normal hilts of this and pommels of that, would like to see energy and/or 1 more point of energy or regeneration recovery added to the lists.
