Empty guilds?
Just wondering:
Are more players experiencing less people online in their guild these days? Our guild hardly has enough payers online for a gvg game, and on weekly days its never more than 3 or 4 at a time (its not such a big guild but at evening there were always 10+). Maybe its because hollidays are over? Or did players leave for the new LOD ladder? Something else? |

I find that not recruiting WoW players helps in this. Most dedicated WoW players just bought this game so they could PvP with no monthly fee.

Very true. Also many are playing BF2 and Swat 4 in our Gaming clan. but just about everyone is waiting for the new PvE content. a few have played the game again with other builds and unlocked more but some like what they got and don't want to play more till new content.
I also believe we will see a massive return when the observer mode happens so we can watch matches Stadium style. And of course for Chapter 2 when it comes out... |

I posted this because of the sudden drop of many guildmembers last week, without a clear reason for it withing the game. I am still wondering if other guilds experience the same thing...

Yea, for sure.
People doing summer things, drinking and bbq I know its been quiet on our teamspeak server, but it will drum up again when we get the summer update. others are taking the chance to have a quick blast at a few other games, forgot how much fun hl2:dm was I've taken the time to build our guilds website, just need to get guild members back to submit some content for me Observer mode will be awsome!.. and an eye opener for sure. We're having that same problem... Our guild leader hasnt been on in ... 2 weeks. In fact, Ive never seen him online at all myself. Im an officer, and there have been too many nights where I've been the only one on... I understand theres irl stuff going on.. back to college etc. I think they'll come back in a little while once things calm down a bit, but I wouldnt worry about it.. |

Same issues here, thats the problem with the non monthly fee (I'm not bitching!) people don't feel forced to play.
My leader is a RL friend, he was logged off for like a month, he logged in once to make me leader. I'm on most of the time, helping out guildies and such. But we have never GvG because we never had enough people on. It saddens me that this happens to most of the guilds, I think this is a issue to be worked out IMO. |

Most ppl bought gw, thinking its a free mmorpg. Then they finished pve, realised that gw isnt mmorpg, but a competitive online rpg(corpg) that requires discipline and skill to play, so they stopped playing and went back to their idiotic, mindless and repeative grinding of a random mmorpg.

Ok... No Its not every guilds heres your awnser.
If your one of those who spam in various towns and recruit just about anyone Yes you might end up with a lot of people that dont play often, leave the game after 1 week, play it just once in a while but mainly plays other mmorpg and etc..... You should set standards for your guild and try to recruit only the ones that actualy seem like they play often or at least like the game. kick poeple out if they disappear for more then a week without any notice of why. My Guild is very active at all times. we are 80 or so members and seem to be doing fine. Also I find having my own site for the guild helps, I can manage the guild from our own msg board and etc.... Also the dedictation of the guild leader to the game makes a hell of a difference. EI: when i typed "/age" in game i got 706 hours and 41 minutes over 3 months that makes almost 8 hours daily. Now people are gonna say i play to much, but truly if you cant play that much then maybe you shouldn't be a guild leader in the first place. Possibly an officer or a member. People will expect to see their leader often and ready to always help them. If you have anymore questions my IGN: Shrain Lore, Zeha Lore or Oria Lore. |

I'm a Guildleader of a small guild. I haven't played in 2 weeks! I found myself burning out a bit so I took a break so GW didn't lose its interest completely. I will probably be back this week, don't want my members to start freaking out hehe. Sometimes it is just better to take a break than to get burnt out totally
BF2 is a good change of pace. |

My guild is somewhat experiencing the same problem. Although we PvP quite often, to some members it is not enough. We've been recruiting a bit more recently trying to cure this problem, but its hard to find people who meet our criteria.
Personally I think there are way too many guilds right now to begin with. It is very easy to start a guild, but can be very difficult to make it successful. Ideally I'd like to see guilds merge more often: Unite the players still interested in the game, and weed out the ones that are not. If the right oppurtunity comes along, my guild will likely accept a merger. |
