SIGH....Trying to start a new guild..please help. THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT
I'm trying to start a new guild. I've been trying for a LONG time now. This guild is pretty much normal except for 1 thing................No racist's, anti-homophobic's or No anti semetic's. I get some replies, but they're only questions.
Why are so many GW players Immature? I can understand other guilds promoting tolerance, but im getting replies that say, "I hate fags though!!!", "your just another Jew liberal". Im trying to WEED out the IMMATURE crowed, but im having a REALLY hard time. Any suggestions as to advertising or recruiting? :mad Last edited by kilgore trout; Aug 18, 2005 at 08:17 AM // 08:17.. |

Yeah, don't advertise. Basically, you're going to get just about anyone if you just advertise. And there are plenty of people over 18 who are immature too. Just join some group of players out there, if you find someone nice who's not in a guild already, invite him/her. Unfortunately, pretty much everyone and their pet has a guild, so you won't find too many takers.
Also, why would it not be normal for a guild to be anti-bigot or whatever the term is? I haven't seen any guilds devoted to racism or any kind of -ism (though to be honest, I don't look.) |

Seriously, why does everybody have to start his own new guild? How about joining an existing one? There is about a bazillion guilds out there, and most of them are struggling to maintain the number of members that you need to have some organized co-op and to start a solid GvG team.

The best way I have found to get good solid guildmates is to learn about the person through normal play. You will learn alot during a mission or quest about how a person reacts to things, what comments they make when things go bad, how they handle dying, etc. You haven't done so, I highly recommend investing a bit of time and trying this. It takes longer, but is well worth it in the long run.

I totally agree. If you want to "weed out" people, the best way is to see them in the game environment, doing things you would do with guild mates. It's kinda like a tryout without them knowing. However, it's ultimately their choice whether or not they want to join your guild.

You say "no anti-homophobics"... so does that mean you don't want people in the guild who are against homophobes???
