I'm wondering why you think things should be easier at lev 20. When your at the top you should be facing the toughest challenges.

In Guild Wars, you might be level 20 and have the best runes, weapon, upgrades... yet the game will still be darned hard and challanging. When you consider that this is against the norm for most games - can you see why they are complaining/whining/whatever about things being so hard for people level 20? Can you see why they think it should be easy? Because of the nature/culture from other games.. where when you reach max level the game does become easy and a walk-in-the-park... |

I should have added that nobody who has a lv20 char should bother replying.
Also, the game specifically states that you CAN solo and not use the retarded kiddies found in pub right on the box! I am sitting here looking at it. It says use henchies as needed. Well henchies are useless! The insane number of monsters attacking at once just slaughters them in seconds, leaving you to run until finally dead, or just scratch a few before you die. Also, I know how to f***ing play. Those scarabs were and are GROUPED. We're talking all in one tiny area. I never attempt to just run through a mission or area, that's stupid. Seriously though, that area is lv12~13 according to henchmen level, but two or three touches from those scarabs is insto-death. They don't do much damage but they have vampiric touch and they cast health-draining spells as well. Yeah, a lv20 with max skills and health could probably survive, but that isn't a lv20 mission! Oh and is mobs aren't being changed/increased, how about this RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing bullshit that has had me pissed for ages. Thunderhead is virtually unplayable now. We have a full party of lv18~20 characters, most of us on TS. Got to the end, some badass boss comes in and casts some bullshit spell that drains all your health in about two seconds. You try to break the hex and even if you try it 500 times, you will be interrupted 500 times. You basically get bent over and RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed there. There is no RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing point in doing that mission over fifty times in two weeks and not succeeding once. Prior to a recent patch that shit did NOT happen. And don't RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing say we couldn't play, I can solo that mission up to that point and die at the SAME POINT. Now if several of us can solo to the end, and we all team up with nothing but humans who can work well together, then why is the outcome the same? Too RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing hard! That's got me on another point. There are some mobs in the game that are just insanely buffed and need nerfing. I am talking the ones that EVERY SINGLE RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING TIME you cast a spell or skill, you get interrupted! Not ocne in a blue moon, I mean every damn time. There's no possible way that can happen, but certain mobs can do it. Generally these mobs also cast mega health-draining spells or hexes also. This way, they can drain you but if you attack or try to heal, you fall on your ass. Not everybody likes going into a damn room and teaming with others. Some of us enjoy playing with henchies and our friends and/or family. To su, the game is unplayable. RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO the damn farmers. There's a one-line piece of code to fix that. Log the player's last few missions/areas (3~5 of them) and if he goes back to one, just don't drop anything blue or better. This will force players to at least move around the map if they wish to farm. The box is pretty much false advertisement. Sad thing is that you can't return it after discovering that. if it says you can solo with henchies then goddamnit RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing stop making it too tough. Some fo the damn Kryta missions are the longest in the game! You need to meet an ally in the next room right? Well the door's busted so you go outside to get around. Oh shit, you gotta' walk 500 miles to get from your side of the house to his. During that venture it's CONSTANT fighting. These guys need to take a look at Morrowind, Daggerfall, WoW, Everquest, and hell, every other RPG around. I mean you can't stop five seconds in a goddamn outdoor area! The radar in most areas stays solid red. I swear I will sue when the red tube in my monitor goes out because they added too many monsters. My main gripe is with the game grinding. I've been through every mission a dozen times. I don't want to do them with my current builds, but exploring the outdoor areas is just as bad now. Every two feet it's a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing group of three or more! Not everybody wants to fight constantly. Sometimes it would be nice to get around enemies to get on with life. The game is seriously RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed right now as far as mobs are concerned. God I am just so pissed thinking about it. I WANT TO RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING PLAY THE GAME I LOVED WHEN THE GODDAMN THING WAS BOUGHT. Screw it, I know how to program. It's this simple. If they keep buffing shit I'll just write something to train the game. If they're going to ignore the population that enjoys being in a virtual world with a few friends or no friends, then they can ignore their methods that they are FORCED to use to survive in the game. I am so RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing sick and tired of doing nothing but hacking and slaching to get five feet in there. It's insane how RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing grind this game is now. I hate that goddamn shit. HATE! Oh and if they fixed the rune-trader I was unaware because a rune selling for 6plat earlier was worth 25gold to me. Hmm, must only be a European fix. *EDIT* You knwo what? RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you. I hate farming because it's just grinding. They nerfed that shit because of the botters, and said they'd bring it back up to normal after the botters were banned. So now instead of just banning botters, we cater to them and the other cheaters until we feel we've banned them? Get real! You see a botter, BAN HIM. Don't punish the legit players. I don't understand your philosophy, loot comes from dropped items and you have to kill mobs for items to drop, so the more mobs their are the more chances for loot. I have no problems with mobs every five feet. And the box doesn't say "can solo with henchies and win every mission" It says SPECIFICALLY: Play solo with a band of skillful henchmen. That's all it says it doesn't say anything about being able to win everything you do with them. It's obvious every mission isn't designed around using henchmen, even I can see that from all the missions I've used henchies for. I just ask for henchies to be allowed in all missions, cutting them from UW/FOW sorta turns me sour, but, only there.
Also if you are a "great puller" like I am you don't get 10's of mobs on you at once, I have a pulling strategy that keeps that from happening and it works quite well stringing the mobs out even if all my henchies die, I have them so strung out I can kill them 1 or 2 at a time anyway solo, then rez my henchies and continue on. This game is about SKILL and INTELLIGENCE, sometimes those that THINK they are good players really aren't, they think cause they got max damage weapons and max leet armor and a couple of elite skills they are great, lol, I've seen many an idiot fall to my axe/sword combo. I think you just suk at most of the harder parts of the game. Don't use enough common sense and think cause you can solo to one certain point you should be able to solo the rest of the way. Wellllllll that's just not the way the game is designed. I look for more soloing to be nerfed in the future so the game is played more as it was intended, grouping with either humans or henchies moreso than doing Griffon/Troll runs solo. Basically though hardly anyone agrees with you so you might just as well quit and go back to your EQ/Morrowind whatever, those are certainly hack n slashes as well and more boring than this game cause you get to sit and wait on spawns over and over and over again in the same place, talk about boring. Of of course you can take your max level character down to some lower leveled mobs of 30ish to 40ish and stomp them to pieces and that's "farming" in EQ and other mmorpgs, something else pretty boring. I'd rather run around in GW's and see new scenery a lot than look at the same scenery day in and night out like in the likes of EQ's and others. Heh maybe you should just make a new character and stay in Pre-Searing forever, there you can be a uber power and kill anything and everything solo, no henchies required, then you'll be happy. |

If you hate the game so much, why not delete your account and sell it? Surely that would be a better idea than coming here and screaming and swearing about YOUR lack of skill and intelligence. This game is here for people to enjoy, not to rage about.
Just one little question - before Thunderhead Keep, did you change your armour? If you did, you need to get it re-infused. PS: most intelligent people credit swearing to a lack of vocabulary. |

As an aside...
I do NOT think the Henchmen suck. You CAN beat this game with henchmen. Seriously. I have done almost every mission with them and they are quite competent IF (and this is a big if) you know what they are going to do. I have played with them so much that I know their scripting. I know when they will rush. I know when Alesia will heal people. They are predictable, but if you learn to work with that, it's pretty effective. They have already stated multiple times that they are going to update the drop situation. So if you are whining about that, perhaps have a little patience? Also, from the anger in your post, maybe take a little break. If a virtual world can make you this upset, you might want to take a small vacation. |

Health Draining Spell, killed in 2 Seconds?
Sounds like someone is not infused... Ontop of that, stop bashing the 105 Monk Build. Why should farming be a matter of only Warriors? Let the monks have their share too, most of them had to endure a lot of morons on their way there. People who use words that kick this annoying censor thingie in this forum all the time. But adding on that, let elementals and rangers and any other class have their fair share and place about farming too. |

Baratus: learn social skills. using words like "f***" won't make your arguments more solid. I've gone through scarabs in the desert and in the jungle like crazy - with both wa and ele. You just have to have a decent skillbar and some BRAINS. And I've run through them too - hard to do, but works at times. Strategy is also knowing when to run and when to fight. I've gone through all the missions in the game up to thunderhead keep (or however it's called in english) with just henchies with 3 chars (monk, wa, ele) - except for "aurora clearing". Do they suck? Yeah. But less than many human players around - at least you KNOW what they're doing. I've never farmed once - I hate it. It's one of the reasons why I hate other MMORPGs. Still I have a perfect fire weapon, 2 sets of droknar's armor (air and fire), and runes enough. PvE. I unlocked most ele/me elites and lots of skills. I'm doing medium range pvp. I don't have a problem. You do? So sorry. As many said already, the fact YOU don't like it does NOT mean it's broken. The fact you add curse words don't make your statements true. The fact that about no one else agrees does not mean they are morons. But it MIGHT mean that you are. Good playing. Or not. |

You know how to program? I think your last post, which shows your mental age of about 14 tells us that all you could program is likely a microwave. So go relax, heat up some popcorn, and settle back into playhouse Disney

1) Scarabs don't group in groups greater than 6-8. You triggered multiple groups. 2) If you're doing Thunderhead and getting killed by Spectral Agony, perhaps you should go get your armor infused? Spectral Agony is just about the only thing I can think of that would kill you so quickly, and it shouldn't be a problem if you're Infused. 3) I've never met a mob that interrupted 'everything' I did. 90% of mobs don't even have Interrupts. The only ones I can think of offhand the Storm Rider/Breeze Keeper flying Jellyfish line of Mesmers and the Crystal Desert Devourers. 4) You must be playing a different Guild Wars, because I can and certainly have stopped in just about every outdoor area for an extended time. Nothing really just wanders into your aggro bubble unless you're right next to it. 5) Calm down and take a deep breath. You're just ranting and exagerrating at this point. |

Too biased
I've just skimmed through this thread so sorry if I missed something.
I guess I play with henchies quite alot (they don't mind if you need to answer the phone mid-way through a mish etc. but I have noticed its generally a lot easier to complete a mission with human players than henchies (just because they're generally at a higher level). OK I get killed a lot but I still get the bonuses as the other players are competent I mean what's up with the Mage henchie? He dies so easily I wonder if he's putting a gun to his head!! |

the game can't be played through with henchies. They aren't smart enough to get out of AoE and they follow you so closely that when monsters do attack its the healers that take the hits. And here is a test for you players out there. Go to Ice Caves of Sorrow, get a party full of henchies, leave the town through the portal, and attack the ice imps that were recently placed there. They will cast maelstrom on your casters and your whole party will be dead in 10 seconds without even killing one imp. If your a less played class its 10 times harder to find a human group. Tanks are a dime a dozen now and healers past ascention are a needle in a haystack.
And the people bragging about being rich played for hundreds of hours before nerfing was introduced and built up their wealth, so when farming was stopped, they were able to buy everything they wanted. The game is biased against the beginner. And people say by just playing through the game you will build up your wealth. I don't think so. Look at the size of the party. Gold gets split even with henchies, and there is only a 1/4, 1/6, or 1/8 chance something will actually drop for you. Ok so a gold armor drops in a mission. Once a mission is all your going to see. First of all look at the chance its going to drop for you. Second of all, what is the chance its a superior, the only things worth anything now. And unless its a sup swords, absorption, vigor, monk runes or fire magic, its worth dirt. Now I don't want people to call me a whiner because I have beat the game with two characters and have massed over 300 hours of gameplay for accumulating wealth after I beat the game. For 300 hours, count the amount of days I have played in that 300 hours, and I have made probably 100k, if im lucky. People say 100k!!! Thats amazing! Not really, since that means I have been farming for a week and a half solid. 12.5 days worth of farming. And a sup. absorb is worth huge amounts, so there goes my week of farming down the drain. 1000 plat for a crystalline sword? Forget about it, I havent even made a third of that total over all my characters. The game is made better by looking cool. People take pride in their characters appearance, and that is what makes the game fun- Having a character that looks unique and looks cool from the player's point of view. People that have to settle with droks armor and a short sword while seeing people with UW armor and fellblades makes them feel obsolite, so they are driven further away from enjoying the game. The game is fun, but hard working players are being punished for what a few botters are doing. I do hope that they will restore at least a little bit of farming. i think it is wonderful
the OP suggests it is much too challenging since he/she is a level 20 and as the top of the heap should be stomping all over things. ON THE OTHER HAND there are many whiners saying you need to give us more levels and raise the cap or the challenge will vanish |

I can take a pvp ranger into the random arena, have only minor and major runes on it and win just as often as I loose. Therefore runes don't make you a better player. You can get high end versions of pretty much every item in the game, +15% > 50% weapons, etc, purely by collecting things that the mobs drop and giving them to another mob. Granted these items don't have funky names or looks or special abilities such as making your dmg fire based, but you can get the mods that do these sorts of things pretty easily and pretty cheap. Hell, I've got two poison strings sitting in storage right now that I'll probably give away in a few days if I don't find a use for them. Furthermore, just last night I gave away 3 items the newbies in Ascalon, 2 near max (14-27) plain short/halfmoon bows and a max plain wingblade. I could have easily sold these items in the same location for 300-500 gold each had I wanted. Gold is easy to earn if you really need it. You're just not going to walk out into a zone and become a millionare overnight unless you get incredibly lucky and find a bunch of superior absorbs, which is always possible. Quote:
