Future expansion content
We all know that future expansions will include more areas, more missions, more equipment, more skills and possibly more professions. What major improvements and additions, besides these things, are you hoping to see in future chapters of Guild Wars? It's been said that adding dungeons and a considerable amount of indoor content will be a big part of chapter two, but what about beyond? How would you like to see Guild Wars and the concepts behind it grow and expand in the months and years to come?

The only almost indoor area that I've ever seen in GuildWars is Dedrimors Bowl (I think that's the name)... the one with all the Snow Ettins that will tear you apart if you're alone... But I think that it's just an outdoor area that cheats and looks like an indoor area, :P. Doesn't matter to me, really... but I WOULD like to see more if things like this.
I never did the Catacombs part of the Pre-Searing Ascalon... which is why I never got the Ressurection Signet... or so I was told. (Seriously devs, let us by the Ressurection Signet... lol). But that sounds like it would be an indoor area. There are probably others (I guess the Tomb and such are indoor, eh?) that I don't know about also. Either way, I just happen to enjoy the odd indoor area somtimes, so this is something I'm looking forward to. Also... this one has been bothering me since I first viewed the world map... I want to go to VAST DESERT below the Tomb of Primevil Kings PLEASE!! . lol, it's just so big and I love a good desert area, personally (I know that there are some already). Still, I try every single event to find a way down there but I never can, lol. Oh well, one day maybe... However, I guess this is about expansion content... because the stuff I've mentioned better be in the intitial release or I'll shake my fist and other angry stuff like that. In terms of future content... as I've said before, variations of the current weapons would be nice. One handed Hammers, 2 handed swords, 2 handed axes... more varieties of bows... etc. etc. Honestly, we need more variations of armour... even if 3 sets did the same things, more or less, I'd just like to see the variety. Sure, dyes can offer that, but it's not enough. I just don't want a whole bunch of different rainbow clones running around... lol. Maybe I'm alone on this, I dunno.

I'd have to say, I have never played, but your not alone. I totally agree. By the way, your name is cool and funny at the same time! Awesome name, Shrapnel Magnet.

I think they need to be focusing all of their attention on fixing the game up, so that they can have a game successful enough to release expansions for.
Peace, -CxE

Yeah that makes alot of sence. Makeing it as close to bug-free as possible. And then it will be awesome! Then, yeah, expansions will be great. Having the game have little to n errors would be wonderful.

I dont know about you guys, but I'd like to see some underwater scenery, or perhaps some form of city or region in the air ... maybe a draconic race that rules the skies (little far-fetched, i know). How about a 'real guild' to go home to in a city where you can drop off your loot in your treasure room. Then after that one gets built, ability of another guild to charge into guild wipe out enemies or stealthily steal horde. But then again game and network stability seems more of an ongoing goal that they can continually achieve. Mine ideas seem like a snowballs cance in hell!
Cheers! |

Hehehe... nah they aren't bad at all. Dude, you into the DragonLance books? Hehe... I read this one book, The Doom Brigade. There is a "draconic race" called the Draconians. Yeah, some non-human race would be cool as a playble character or NPCs. You have a great imagination. Andi na fantasy game, that is needed greatly. Good thoughts man.!

I am into many fantasy rpg's like dragonlance, forgotten realms, final fantsy, eq, and nwn. Also, I was on a post before that was asking about having travel pets ... some guy wanted a horse ... after digging a bit deeper ... his/her horse turned into a dragon, then we could have battles in the ski. I wasn't thinking that far out though. But a cool ski region is always graphically pleasing and comes with soothing or inspirational sounds. Thanks for the support man!

Bah, fixing the game is over-rated. :P
I do get your point and yes, I would like a smooth playing a bug-free environment... but that should be expected. I mean, as it stands, the game is stable (from what I can see)... But I don't know what goes on beyond closed doors. Either way, for expansions... I'm not too sure really, they say that te expansions will be comparable in value to the intitial release, so that's a heck of a lot of content. I did notice that Old Ascalon was it's own little contained area... so I'm assuming that there will be more of that.

they mentioned humans would be the only playable race in the initial retail release
a new race in the next chapter would give people something to chew on |

Arena Net has to wait awhile before they really start thinking about any expansions and what will be in them, as said by achilles "be carefull king of kings, you need a victory first"
they need to make shure Guild Wars by itself can get off it's feet. |

Anyway, I like the underwater idea. I wouldn't mind seeing swimming, climbing and jumping implemented in some form, in the future. An emphasis on destructible enviroments might be nice, too. Being able to break down castle walls and set fire to houses in PvP could be a lot of fun. |

Indeed. I agree with you all. But like Achillies said, GuildWars must first do well. Which I don't have a doubt in my mind that it won't! It will be so freaking awesome. Anyway, yeah, giving suggestions is never bad. It is always a good idea. Your totaly welcome Stumpy. I think you and I were both thinking of the Iksar from EQ. yeah a new radce would be awesome furthor down the road. But don't like completly over do it like EQ didl.

I think in game voice chat for the missions would be a good idea. Or like guild voice chat where guild members can talk together.

I have read that there will be an actual voice caht. Where you use your voice and the people you playing with can to with like a headset thing anyway.
I have read this on the FAQ's on the GuildWars main site, www.guildwars.com. This should answer some questions. Quote:

I think it is a little soon to talk about expansions, but as lurnaround said, We are not warned to imagine.
Caverns, crypts, tombs will be fun. I???d also would like to travel some free, vast spaces, like plains or fields, inhabited by hordes of animals, and not delimited by paths or roads or mountains. I would also like to see a few ???impossible??? areas, were 8 level 20 people get died whatever they do because the monsters are too much strong. I remember an unbalanced mission with big spiders in it, a few Betas ago. Best time I ever had in GW was trying to make the mission over and over with the same team. Never saw more LOL written in chat. We knew we would die because it was so crazy, but it was a big challenge, and I hope I will have a few ???impossible??? places of that kind for my lvl 20 characters. Big Challenging places. |

lol if i was in an impossible place i would either 1) laugh or 2) chuck my laptop at the wall, lol. it depends if i know its impossible or not i guess but one thing id like to see in the expansions or futer betas is guild chats, not like you being able to talk to your guild, but your guild and another being able to talk :/ other than that im just gonna admire what i have now, because its preaty damn good
