Wheres all the black chars at?
I've only seen one black (or what ever politically correct word we are using right now) charicter on GWs and that was a friend of mine who made it for fun.. Is it just me or does nobody seem to go for that option?

I've seen a lot of black skin characters
I created one too a while ago but in the end, I guess it's just cosmetic |

All of my characters (I have 3) are black...and my DH created one character that's black. (we're both white, btw). I've seen other black characters, but you are right, they are few and far between.

I have a male W/Me, and a female E/Mo that are not very black... just tanned. Does that count?

I have a ghostly pale necromancer with armor that's dyed black. That counts, right?

Being a male, I have to create female characters because, quite frankly, I would rather look at a female for hours on end rather than a male. So when I decided to make a male, only one class would fit the bill...and he needed to be black. See avatar.

For me the reason why I haven't created and characters with the darker skins is purely cosmetic i.e. A lot of the faces are drawn and coloured (eye's, lips, etc) in ways that just aren't right on a dark face.
Bright red lips, bright blue eyes, and so on... i think on female elementalists there are only two faces that don't have blue eyes.... call me picky or whatever but I just don't think it looks right / natural. |

My necro is more of a charcoal color. I thought it would be fit for a necro to be "dark."

at the risk of sounding like a racist and being flamed back into the stone age, white males really are the majority for online games. i would wager that on the average black guys/girls comprise less than 10% of an online game's userbase. i have no statistics or polls to back this up, this is only based on personal experience. i'd be more than happy to be proven wrong, too.

You may be right, but don't forget that that actual females playing are largely out numbered by males and yet this isn't really reflected in game.
My point - in game appearances count for nothing as to who may be behind the wheel. Character appearance is a totally personal preference and (mostly) totally removed from actual physical appearances. |

Out of my 7 characters, (2 accounts - heh), I have three dark-skinned (monk, ranger, warrior).
The necro I had to keep deathly-pale, I wanted my water mage to look icy so she is white-white with white hair. I wanted my beautiful mesmer to look as much like me as possible - yeah, right! - so she is brown-haired and white also. It is all cosmetic, though... I really don't like the way dark skin and white ele collectors' armor looks, so my second ele is white with the red pouty lips. |

i'm guilty of this myself. my first character, mo/r, i tried to make as realistic to my own appearance. pony tail, male, medium-dark skin but still caucasian. my other three characters are female, as short as i could make them (r/mo e/mo w/mo) as were 2 others that i ended up deleting (n/mo and me/ele).

Most time when I see a black character its got a nice big racist name over its head, go figure. Anyways I wager most people who play GW are white....they make characters they feel comforatable with. Nothing wrong with it, If Im roleplaying a character I want it to represent myself, so Ill prolly make a white char.

I have a very dark-skinned necromancer, as well. I wanted to go with red and black as an overall color scheme, so I took black skin and red hair to go with the (happily) default red & black armor (I thought I would have to dye it that color!). So, if you see an all red-and-black necro, it could very well be me!

I made a black mesmer, then people pointed and laughed at my fairy dance, and called me black... so i deleted myself. It was quite sad.

I don't quite see the point of this question but anyway, I happen to have a "black" character since he's based on the paladin in Diablo II I used to play (who also happens to be "black"). So I've got one of the minority of "black" characters in the game. I don't see the big deal about it though since people with black skin are still humans right? Just because their pigment is a different shade doesn't mean anything.

I thought of a neat name for my monk, Thurgood Thivinus, and I felt with the name Thurgood, it would only be proper that he be black.
